Man don't let that **** blind you, he looked great against an unranked fighter who's biggest recognition comes from a season of the contender:lol:

Both. It was a world class top 10 P4P fighter against a journeyman. I think people gave Gomez a shot just because he's a likable guy.

. . . like I said, Cotto keeps on improving in every fight. :D

The Mosley fight is a harder fight than this one so I'm not too impressed. I knew Gomez will wilt down under pressure unlike Mosley.

I really wasn't impressed by this fight. I have been more impressed the times that he has faced adversity and came back to KO his opponent. I was more impressed in the Judah and Mosley fights. The one thing though that stuck out a little bit was that in 25 fights Gomez had never even been down, let alone stopped. In this fight he was down 3 times and stopped.

The thing was that Gomez did nothing to get Cotto confused or something to be afraid of. I don't think it was the lack of power that was the problem for Gomez it was that he couldn't do anything to Cotto to have him worry. I'll give you an example Paulie Malignaggi had no power but he had the speed and the ring movement to have Cotto to fight him and take him serious as a fighter. Cotto was faster and beat Gomez to the punch every time. This was a tuneup fight for Cotto and can't wait till he fights Margarito.

gomez a live underdog? get out of here. people only know him because he joined the contender. no way he is a legitimate threat to cotto. cotto's win is impressive though.

The vast majority of people's opinions that actually know boxing knew that Gomez was WAY out of his league.

Nothing surprising to see Cotto beat the crap out of him.
