at this point, floyd can come in bigger than Pac if he wants to. Pac has shown he can take shots from a 165 fighter and Pac himself weighing in at 148. That may be the reason why Pac and Margarito fought at that weight to see whether Pac can take it from somebody above 147 and Pac took it like a G. Haymon does the negotiating for floyd. The video of Floyd proclaiming that Haymon does the talking for him is all over the place. Floyd doesn't do the negotiations. He just gives the go signal whether he likes the contract or not. As far as the second negotiation is concerned, yes both Arum and Koncz, Greenberg, ODHL, Schaeffer, Haymon and Ellerbe had agreed to something but it was Floyd who didn't want the fight. This concludes my thoughts about this topic. If you don't like what I said, Merry Christmas to you and your family.:good
I'm glad you summed that up...because you were all over the place, as I said. You haven't absorbed anything I've said. I DON'T CARE WHY EACH FIGHTER MADE A SPECIAL DEMAND. Floyd accepted Manny's because, he KNEW he had never come in over the limit set for THEIR FIGHT. Manny refused Floyd's because, he was apparently not comfortable with the effects (or potential results?) of the test. Now either you believe, 14 days was UNACCEPTABLE (for a testing regimen that really should have no cutoff, to be most effective) or you don't. I DO NOT believe such a favorable testing scenario (for Manny), should have been the reason for the fight not happening. I can make it no clearer than this to whom I assume is another adult. Why would you blame Floyd for asking for the best testing possible, for one of the biggest sporting events possible? And how did HE derail the fight, by asking...and Manny did not for refusing? And you want to call people *****s and *******s. atsch Man Wtf? Really...look in the mirror.
 LOL...Cotto fought ONE FIGHT, against his stable mate Margo, and was, arguably, never the same. That does not equate to Floyd waiting for Cotto to slow down over some long period of time. Please...stop. As for Pac. Pac had the damn fight in the palm of his hand, in Jan. That is not waiting for a fighter to slow down. He was offered the fight. HE LET THE OPPORTUNITY SLIP AWAY. Too bad...gotta wait now. He could take a leave from the sport if he wanted to. But, if Pac wants to keep fighting all these guys who do nothing for his legacy...because, he wants to cash in....oh well. He has a built in (albeit flawed) excuse if Floyd beats him, I guess.
Basically you don't need to earn the right to fight whoever you want, you just do it and people who want to pay to see it will.
Nevermind, I just realized I posted in a thread where people are saying things like "*******" and "Floydiot". Disregard all my post(if you weren't already doing so). I'm going back to the lounge.
Actually, in my opinion he doesn't owe us because whenever he fights, he's giving all he's got. I get my money's worth everytime I watch him wether it's only 2 rounds or 3, it's a joy to watch him. Couldn't ask for more. His fight aside from scared FLOYD will just be an icing on the cake. He doesn't have to prove anything more. :hat
 Don't worry, I'm 100% sure that this gem will be quickly disregarded by everyone who reads it.
cotto took on margarito, clottey and pacquiao and taht was after mosley. the guy took one every damn welter when the welter division was hot. and who did floyd fought during that time? hatton and marquez? credit to him for fighting mosley though in his 5th year at the weight.
i do not approve of this mosley fight but pac get **** even choosing jmm or berto irregardless unless floyd mans-up and end his vacation. floyd did say he is on vaaction and has no urge fighting pacquiao. or are you guys still in denial that floyd did said that?
:thumbsup they are both very entertaining. you have no idea how much entertainment floyd has provided me outside the ring.... and it hasnt cost me a thing. i dont even watch cops anymore, lol.
So you're not giving him credit for becoming the linear champ less than a year into the division in 2006?
Margarito (arguably plastered) is the fight that "changed" him. Clottey fought a tough fight with him. And Shane was also a tough fight. Margarito BEAT HIM INTO SUBMISSION, though. Big difference man... I applaud Cotto for taking on the who's who of the division, when they were in top form (or closer to it...Mosely). He represents what the sport SHOULD be about, right now. But, Cotto started his career at 140. So, to create any kind of legacy, he would've had to face as many WW's and LWW's as possible, right? He had to have challenges against credible and named opponents, to make his resume viable, at these weights. Therefore, I expect his resume to surpass Floyd's, at WW. Floyd took somewhat of a shortcut, at WW, having put in the majority of his work at the lower weights. His legacy, at the lower weights, was already established BEFORE moving up (same as Manny). Anything he has done up at WW, up to LMW, is icing on the cake, IMO. But, I would've liked to have seen a Cotto matchup (could care less about a Margarito matchup). Mosley (earlier) would've been nice as well.
