Calzaghe is more than halfway to being shot, and now they decide to put him at number one? Manny definitely isn't in the top-spot either.
Good points but lets not forget, Manny has lost against Morales, and he has had a draw with Marquez,and hasnt really been fighting live guys consitantly. Dont get me wrong Hopkins was old when Joe got him, but Joe has faced the younger threats in his division. and Joe is still undefeated!!
Couldn't agree more. Calzaghe has had 3 excellent wins in his whole career (Lacey, Kessler, Hopkins- and I still believe Hopkins sneaked it), but not much else. Pacquiao's achievements to date are greater, and he is still going for the bigger fights (trying to conquer a fourth weight division that is full of young, hungry, naturally bigger fighters). Pacquiao beat a Barrera close to his prime, stopped a good Morales in their 2nd fight, and extinguished the legend in their 3rd. He has fought a fellow top 5 P4P guy twice in Marquez and hasn't lost. All 3 are HOFers. Are Lacey, Kessler, and the 43-yr-old version of Hopkins?? Nope.
I will say this if Calzaghe goes on to fight a shot Roy Jones and Pac beats Diaz they will swap places.
Let's see. Pac beat MAB when he was on top at 126, Take the next best Featherweight and was robbed with a Draw. JMM chickened out, MAB got shot at EM and won. But MAB scared of Pac. So Pac settled with EM and win the Trilogy and the become the 1st and the only man to KO EM. MAB find his Cajones after losing his title to JMM but still lost to Pac. Then Pac beat JMM in a Close fight. That's the best of the best right there. NOw Pac's looking for more and now calling a much bigger Hatton. Is there anybody there Greater than that??? Calzaghe only step up and start calling the best when he fought Lacy. We already knew Lacy is not a GReat fighter anyway. Kessler is good win but the Jury is still there if Calz really beat a Great fighter in Kessler. Bhop is Great fighter but he is in the end of his career and very old and Calz doesn't look good beating him. But why he's picking RJJ and say no to Pavlik Challenge??? That's not a Trait of the best P4P fighter. Calz wasted his Prime years fighting WBO stiffs and only fight Great fighters when they are out of their primes. Pavlik is in his Prime. He beat the man who beat the man. He's P4P top 10. But the Fat Dan's #1 P4P pick the guy who's not even in the P4p discussion. What a Joke!!!
the lighter you are, the harder it is to lose more weight, since its all muscles probably, thus..even a couple of pounds would mean that much..unlike in the heavies where they just need to take a **** and would probably lose 5 pounds.
Basically the reason that I rate Joe above Pac in my lists are that I feel that Marquez beat him twice. It is a personal list and I will use MY personal scorecards to judge it by. However, Calzaghe is pretty much concencise p4p top 2. So in what way is he not in the discussion for the top spot?
Knockdowns only lose you one point :good. Calzaghe and Marquez both won 8 rounds. However, those differences would explain our p4p list differences would they not?
