How many fights have Roc fighters have had so far, and were any of the opponents Haymon fighters? Why would Jay-Z decide he wants in on boxing when it's already an oligopoly? Microsoft and Apple don't necessarily work together, or do they? Let it play out, we'll see if they do business together. Wonder what a poll on here would get us. As opposed to what you said, I don't believe either company is going under, they'll make money alright, they just won't work together to make each other money.
Not to mention the history of Roc trolling purse bids involving Haymon fighters, which always resulted in the Haymon fighter pulling out. If it was about maximizing revenue and there was no personal vendetta, Al would've called Roc's bluff on some of those blatant over-bids instead of not doing business with them.
Give it up. Promoters promote. Managers manage. Companies make money. Roc Nation since it's start has held only a few bouts. Their largest bout is on the way; Cotto - Canelo, promoted by GBP & Roc Nation. A massive fight card with Andre Ward getting another tune-up at LHW. This fight is larger than the K2/GBP Golovkin-Mattys bout, so it's a hell of a good start for Roc Nation. Yes, Microsoft, Apple, IBM and Intel have ALL worked together in the past and present on multi-million dollar deals. Just like them, Haymon and Roc Nation will work together. If Roc Nation can't get Ward the fights they promised then Ward has cause for breach of contract. Anyone who says different just don't understand business. :yep
That's standard business practice, and not personal. Lockheed does the same thing to Airbus, and Boeing does it to Lockheed. That's just business dude. :smoke
Gonzalez being the co-feature to a 3-belt MW unification adds to the event profile, it's not exactly small compared with Canelo-Cotto, and... an Andre Ward tuneup, my oh my people are excited. Whatever. Bump my post when a major Haymon-Roc collaboration actually happens. Til then, :hi:
:deal Ward is a con artist, plain and simple. Him and Hunter decided on 175 months ago, at least before they announced Paul Smith fight. So Ward had a surgery and a long lay off, understandable but instead of fighting a stiff at 175 he brings a stiff from 168 (and you could say a big middleweight :rofl). He's making public believe he's still a 168 fighter and refuses a perfectly fair 164 50-50 offer from K2. Then sends them a phantom BS offer after they already had signed the Lemieux fight - bro I'll fight you at 168 in Fall 2016 50-50! Which Loeffler refused right away as he knew it was pure nonsense. Ward knew full well he'll be a year into 175 by then :-( I'm surprised he didn't send Manny Pacquiao an offer to fight him at 150 in 2017 :roflatsch (bro and if you refuse it's a duck)
Jay-Z DKSAB. He is just the money behind the operation. He has a whole fleet of people running things.
Seemed like Ward and his homeboys were trying to shake down Goossen for more money. Ward is a piece of garbage and the only people dumber than him are the idiots who pretend to be fans because GGG hurts their feelings.
