Dan Raphael's Report on Margo's Illegal Hand Wraps

What the ****? Margarito possibly pulling a Luis Resto and using plater of Paris in his handwraps?

If this is true, **** him.

I hope this is anything but true. I really hope it's bull****.

And if true, action needs to be taken.

 

Rafael broke the story...he didnt report it to HBO. The president of the WBA did...and the California Commission confirmed it.

This wasnt anything about sensationalizing anything. And just for the record, handwraps and sweat clump, they do not harden like plaster...so the answer his trainers are giving is odd in its own right.

I hope it turns out to be nothing, as Margo is a fighter I respect immensely. But it really doesnt look that way.

Seems to be a couple different stories out there...we shall see. Its just the whole Margo's corner wrapping the hands wrong (leaving the lump) just doesnt really fly with me.

 

OF course something has to be done and criminal intent action taken if found to be actual plaster that was in the wraps......

.....but like I said, I just heard in the news from both Margarito and his trainer, and they dont look worried in the least about it. They're sad that they lost, but they're upbeat that it was just an off-night for Margarito and he will be back.


If the Margarito camp actually planted something illegal in those wraps, there's something that does'nt make sense that was explained in that Dan Rafael article......it said that Nazim objected that there was too much material in the wraps.......Margarito was made to take it off and rewrap because he had too much of it, not because they had discovered an illegal substance......it was'nt until he was unwrapping that Nazim pointed to and said that there's something hard in the wraps.....


.....my issue is if that if indeed Margarito and his camp had done something illegal........they sure would have made an attempt to take the wraps off out of the view of the commission......
How so you say?? Margarito could have easily have said, "listen, I've got to take a **** or a dump, I'll be right back and I'll re-wrap if I have too....."

......Margarito could have then come out of the bathroom stall already with the wraps off and ready to rewrap.

........and another thing is that they made Margarito re-wrap 3 times.....are you all going to tell me that the Margarito camp were stupid enough to use illegal substances on the wraps 3 times?????

Sounds to me that it was just Nazim up to his old tricks just like in the Trinidad fight.....and if so and its proven as I expect that Margarito did nothing illegal.
The camps on the opposing side of Nazim from now on will be on to him, and its likely that its going to be the last time the oppointed man from the commision to oversee the wraps will allow Nazim to take over and disrupt a fighters handwraps at his say so!


Stay tuned my friends.....it looks like to me that you guys are condemning Margarito prematurely.

I'll have a roll call and call out all the Bozo's who prematurely condemned Margarito, and ask them to publicly apologize on this board!

After inspection, it was deemed he used too much wrapping on his hands. Which is ILLEGAL!

As for tonight, it wasnt Rafael who broke the story to HBO, wish people would do a little research on it. It was the Commission and the President of the WBA. Rafael only publically broke the story.

And Nazim noticed a thickness in Margo's wraps. He asked to have them rewrapped, the commission inspected them and agreed...to which is when they found the illegal plaster like substance ON BOTH HANDS, which was bagged and sent for testing. When sweat mixes with an abundance of handwraps, it clumps, it doesnt become like plaster. And even if they were just wrapped incorrectly...what are the chances an experienced corner like Margo's does it to BOTH HANDS!!!

And what do you expect Margo's camp to say? "YEAH WE USED DRYWALL?"

I hope it turns out to be nothing...as I have tons of respect for Tony. But you are making him out to be some kind of victim...and painting Richardson as the bad guy here. I mean, even if it ends up being an clump of extra wrap...GUESS WHAT? That is still illegal bro...just like it was in Tito's case.

Again, I hope it aint true...

 

At least Kevin Lole from that link is reporting facts......and according to that article, nobody from the commision has reported that they confiscated anything looking like plaster......

......the only people using words like plasic and plaster are people from the Mosely side of the promotion and training team.......

I mean think about it......the commision and Nazim (Mosely's trainer is right there overseeing the hands being wrapped.......you all think that the Margarito camp is going to risk putting plaster on the wraps??????

Do you all have any idea how messy it is to handle and mix plaster.
I've done alot of work with mixing plaster when doing drywalling work around my house........

The kind we would be dealing with here is the fast drying kind of powder that drys in minutes........the evidence and trail would have been all over the guy who wrapped Margarito's hands.......

Sorry folks but this he plastered his wraps story is sounding and looking more phoney by the second.

The article said, the Margarito camp did not object to rewrapping.....they did'nt complain one iota and rewrapped right in front of them when they could have easily have made some kind of excuse to take the wraps off elsewhere.

No illegal substances were ever found on Tito's hands.....in fact the commision guy at the time found nothing wrong with the way Tito wrapped his hands, but Nazim put up a big stink and threatened to pull his fighter out of the fight.

......and again, nobody from the commision has come out and said that they bagged a plaster like substance .......the only people using those words are Mosely's camp and HBO who we all know love and create controversy.

....and lastly, I'm not defending anyone here....I'm just looking for due process and not have anyone condemn an individual prematurely on second hand knowleadge.

Let the facts come out before we condemn anyone.

I'll be the first in line to voice my disgust and disbelief if its proven that the Margarito camp planted an illegal substance on those wraps.
.....but as of now, its only heresay and its all coming from Mosely's camp, side of the promotion and HBO who has a stake at rebuilding the damage that was caused to Cotto at the hands of Margarito.

I have no doubt that HBO would love nothing better than for it to be true.......and what they did tonight jumping to all kinds of conclusions went along way to staining Margarito's reputation even if its found that there was nothing but legal substances in the wraps.

Either Richardson keeps getting lucky, or he's one of the only people showing real diligence about this problem. One can only wonder how many fighters have tried to pull a fast one. Every exposure is dramatically important as far as I'm concerned. **** that ****.

 

I honestly can't believe boxers are getting away with this **** nowdays. These stories should be in boxings 'Murky' history. Not 2009 for god sake.

 

If that's so, then Shane Mosley should be banned for steroids usage and Tito's career should be blemished because of illegal hand wraps.
