Exceptional performance. And VERY impressive. Cormier pitched a shut out against a top 10 heavy from the opening bell. He was literally able to do as he willed.
He reminds me somewhat of Dan Henderson. Great grappler -although Dan's forte is Greco Roman. With heavy hands and good striking. Cormier will go far.

 

Cormier impressed in this fight. He made Bigfoot look like a whitebelt.

I wonder if he has the ability to force Josh on his back and pound him like Crocop did. This tournament could have an entirely different conclusion than anyone expected.

 

It already has. Cormier was an alternate. He's now in the finals. He's also a live underdog. No one could have predicted this. Which is the beauty of a GP. That said it's been tainted with the loss of Overeem and the intervention of the UFC.

If Cormier does get him on his back it will be VERY interesting to say the least. Naturally Barnett has the better submission game but h2h as grapplers the advantage is Cormiers. Really looking forward to this match which has had a surprising and very pleasant turn. Cant convey enough how much Cormier impressed me.

Same here. Last time out he looked decent, but safety first. His stand-up looked to be peppering offence, fast, but not deadly.

But a massive step up in class here and he looks better than ever. Says a lot.....Barnett Vs Cormier now looks like one of the most intriguing fights in HW MMA from where I'm sitting, great styles clash.

 

Absolutely. Who would have thought... Whilst the edge in experience is clearly with Barnett, Cormier is a very live underdog. I wouldn't be surprised if he took it to the ground and early. Even on their feet Josh has his work cut out.

 

I wasn't sure about him. The Kyle fight had me thinking, "definitely a Glass Jawed Joke" and then seeing him absorb some flush Fedor shots kind of left me in limbo on him. Now, I'm almost certain that he's got a shitty Chin.

And actually, I probably would have put him on the list regardless of my misgivings about his Mandible had I remembered him, but Strikeforce fighters are generally an afterthought for me in all regards.

 

This is the first thing I thought of once the fight was over. Also, that overeem would of ****ing eaten em alive :yep I think fedor just didn't have the confidence in his fist to truly run his fist through somebody's head like he did vs zulu.
