    Seem to remember when he turned pro there was some talk of him descending from this notable African American woman with the same surname. I can't remember much about her, only that she was reputed to be tough and lived to a very old age. Dubois is surely a French surname though, and most likely a slave masters name.

    Bloody hell thats some life to make it to 100! Never heard of the links before. A decent promoter would be pushing this story as it seems she is some sort of distant relative.

    Exactly what I was thinking when I read it yesterday. How do you survive to that age going through all the hardship she must have suffered, and at a time where medical care was as poor as it was back then. I'll count myself lucky if I make it to 70!. Amazing really.
