In the co-feature, Robert Berridge just successfully defended his Pan Asian light heavyweight title with a tenth round TKO of Kerry Foley in a rematch of their draw in 2011.

Nice combination laid Foley out., rib-cracking lead right hook crouching in followed by a hard left cross on the nose.

 

I take it back. Berridge vs. Foley was actually not the co-main. In true Aussie boxing circus act fashion, they have saved that honor for the 4-round pro debut of a rugby star in his thirties. atsch

 

Paul Gallen vs. Herman Ene Purcell, 4 rounds @ heavyweight

 

Gallen in lieu of amateur experience has fought in two charity boxing events and beaten a couple of fellow rugby crossovers, one by KO and the other by split decision.

 

Samoan beefcake Purcell, built like an even stockier David Tua (and even draping a lei around his broad chest the way Tua often would on the way into the ring), specializes in taking on novices. In his own debut he dropped a three-round decision to one but got a knockout over the next in his sophomore try. Berridge is his third novice and chance to move into a positive record.
