Since when did "slick, black American" fighters come into the ring minus the slickness?

    Round 7

Molina is coasting around to his left and jabbing. Kirkland has loose tape on his gloves and Wolfe goes to work on it. EXTREME GLOVE CLOSE-UP!!! (thanks, HBO) Time in. BIG uppercut by Molina, catching Kirkland on the way in. Again Kirkland falls in with a sloppy left and this time Molina drills him with a straight right between the eyes. Kirkland's work rate has fallen to what it was from the 1st through the 4th. Molina pushes him to the ropes and springs up off his belly to hook him in the face. Multiple times. Kirkland tries to fight back out into open water, but Molina shoves him back to the ropes with shoulder-tackles and diving rights to the body. Molina keeps powering Kirkland back. Ferocious but wild combo by Kirkland, not landing cleanly as Molina ducks in against him. Right hand by Molina. CompuBox has Molina landing 18 to 9 so far this round. Straight rights to the body by Molina as Kirkland flails with a weak left uppercut.

    10-9 Molina

    68-65 Molina

Good **** by Molina, again. First 90 seconds are all his. He seems to have zapped Kirkland of his energy. I like the sneaky little body work he's been doing, too. He's got Kirkland trapped in a cage. Another good round from him.

    Round 7

Round opens to a clinch. Kirkland throwing, but nothing really landing clean as Molina stays on the move. Re-taping Kirklands glove. Both fighters throwing, nothing really landing. Kirkland lands a straight left to the body. Good uppercut from Molina. Good straight right from Molina. Another clinch. Kirkland shoots a straight left to the body. Kirkland misses a left and molina clinches. Straight right from Molina, then a clinch. Clubbing left from Kirkland. Straight right from Molina lands, then a clinch. Inside fight from both on the ropes, with Molina jumping out with a right hook. Jab from James. Molina ducks into a clinch again. Another Molina round on my card.

    70-63 Molina
