wbc record books show him as a world champion- facts are facts so you are not telling the truth!!

on your reasoning mundine has never won a world title. mundine has never beaten a world champ either.

Thats on the same arvo as hopkins/Calzaghe. we'll have to find a bar with a few big screens, just in case the slaughter starts while the fights still on.

Or if it finishes early, we might even go to the SCG to watch it?! You up for some teary eyes? :p

IS THAT A JOKE? Some of you guys are the the spawn of hypocracy!!!

Since Danny Green lost to Choc he fought 3 guys that were well below champion standard. He then was given a gift by Stipe Drews who must have spent a lot of time on his knees to get that belt because he was disgraceful.

After winning the title he went on about how he was a REAL WORLD CHAMPION "stick that up ya, blah, blah, blah" but now he wont even defend it against the Argentinian dude, but that's okay because HE IS GETTING OUT ON TOP!!!???

ON TOP? On top of what?

You guys bag Mundine but praise Green? How does that work? If Choc quit now would any of you say "That's okay he's getting out while he's on top? BULL****.

Personally I won't believe it until I hear it come out of his mouth but unless there's a family crisis or he has a severe health issue then I'd be very surprised with the decision.

That said, this post is more about the hypocrasy of you lot more so than Danny Green, who would need to do a lot more than apologize to his fans if he's going to bail out now.....maybe apologize like he did after his win against Sean Sullivan.

Dont believe I have bagged Mundine and by Top I guess Danny means he is the WBC world Champion No Family crisis or servere health issue so you will be surprised I guess. mate i wasn't giving an opionion one way or the other just telling it as it is. I agree drews was disgraceful but at the end of the day Green still beat him for the title so he is retiring WC and i agree 1 time WC and 1 time Interim champ ( if that means anything)
    spawn of hypocracy!!!
I like that one but i might use it later if that is OK

Green is a joke, one could only imagine how much stick Mundine would be copping if he did this.

Without Mundine who would have even heard of Green,Green dogged it cause he and every objective boxing fan knows he is a very limited bum in the ring pardon the pun who would get nailed by anyone he now fights given he has a belt to offer which will bring about half decent fighters chasing him.

2 weeks ago it was Roy Jones Junior as a WARM UP and now he has retired.

Boxing wont be the same without the Green Machine, that jab of his which he threw on mondays and landed on wednesdays was so pretty to watch.Always humble after a fight congratulating his opponent for winning(Sean Sullivan).

See ya Danny, thanks for the memories.....sydney verse Mundine when you were made to look 3rd rate given a boxing lesson by a bloke you had bad mouthed for 5 years.

The main reason is because Green is a likeable guy and a role model for the sport in and out of the ring. Most Autsralians identify with his 'give it your best' attitude.
Mundine is a try hard cocksucker. People who get behind Mundine are also try hard cocksuckers who have just jumped on the wannabe bandwagon.

Stern words from the newbie. I'm sure that Danny Green will feel ashamed when he reads that the newbie johnjourno has bagged him out on an internet forum.
    Man, you really told him.:thumbsup

i always thought briggs would beat him, doesnt matter what happened in sparring, alot of things happen that wont transcend in fights, because in sparring your always trying somethign different and maybe that day you tried somethign and it didnt work, but its a shame hes retiring i thought one more loss to mundine would of done the trick but its better retiring on top....

Mundine beat Green right? Didn't you just say in your post the WBC record books show Danny as a world champion?

Actually Mundine did one better then beat a world champion, he actually beat a future world champion. :hey

Much better then betting a past world champ imo :D

    Well said mate.

I atleast thought he would have a decent excuse, like he broke his back from being too much of a stiff, but retiring because he 'wants to go out on top'? On top of what? Shiners crusty old *******?

****ing weak, he got given a paper title by Drews and is never gonna make one defence of it, retires a couple of weeks before his fight that his well deserving challenger has been training hard for, i'm sure Garay is a real fighter and wants to earn his title in the ring. I think Green realised this isn't a guy who he is just gonna walk over or come for a payday like Drews and just said **** it, don't want to risk losing my shiny baby i paid alot of money for. Nobody should be defending this ****ing pretender.

Good ****ing riddance Danny Green. You were an arrogant, obnoxious, disrespectful, one-dimensional, greedy dumb**** stiff and now you've even disrespected your fans that made you undeservedly rich... Yeah what a great Ozzie champ you were...... A real Ozzie fights everyone win or lose, gives his best, doesn't talk and talk and pull out of fights all the time, a real fighter retires when his body can't handle the sport anymore, not when he gets filled with self-doubt about facing his very first challenger. Is that what we do now, quit before we lose? A real chump of a man.

U no who i feel sorry for.
All the guys that were training hard on the undercard, now that the fight night wont go ahead.
All those guys need the exposure as much as they can.
Its not easy to get on TV dates in Australia these days.

in what way was this a paper title. I got no problem with your opinion on the other stuff dont agree but thats your opioion but Paper title dont quite understand that. Didn't Drews beat Branco and hold the title then green beat him for the title. Thats the way i remember it maybe I was wrong. was it soemthing different than that. at the end of the day Green supporters will see this as the right thing to do and mundine supporters wil see it as the wrong thing. If mundine retired tomorrow if would be the smae in reverse so dont think anyones mind is going to be changed
