Wouldnt it be good if every weight division only had one belt and one world champion. Green is not even amongst the top 5 light heavyweights yet can call himself a world champion. Also this fight was fixed imo.

Green didn't knock him out because his power is a myth and he can't box, all he has is intensity and determination, Drews ran from the opening bell he wasn't scared of Green, he just didn't want to get marked up on his well paid holiday to australia.

We can only dream, i think if it could go back to having one champ per division then boxing would be much more popular, there would be no more arguing about who is the best champ, there would be a guy at the top and that's it.

I thought it was disgraceful the way Green carried on after the fight, you would've thought he just knocked out a prime Roy Jones by his reaction to basically being handed a title by a guy who had no intention of fighting, how any fan of boxing can like the guy i don't understand.

Drvis and Akinwande are probably the most boring and lame fighters in the paid ranks at present.Watching Drvis do his job inside a box ring is worse than taking a couple of sleeping pills.I am glad that Green dethroned him.I am not really sold on Green.I think he will soon lose the belt to another fighter, but at least I wont fall asleep while watching Green do his job inside a box ring.

Although I don't think this fight was fixed, something's really fishy about it for sure. Drews didn't go there to fight. He is (or rather was) much better than what he showed against Green. Odo's right in saying that he's awful to watch and boring as hell but he was a very decent top 10-er. I suspect something's wrong with the guy - he doesn't want to fight anymore, he just wanted to get some cash then quit the hell out of the business.

Dawson will destroy both. Dawson was suppose to fight Drews before his match with Adamek, but he pulled out claiming he had an injury, of course the real truth was, the guy was scared shitless because Dawson was too skilled for him.

Green schooled Drews? Hell no ... Drews just did almost nothing in the rounds 1 - 10.
Green collected them easily, but he never schooled Drews.

Maybe Drews just wanted to collect the cash and hang up the gloves.

    That's whats happened.

I read in todays paper over there that Drews manager has said he's lost the passion for boxing, is retiring and returning to Croatia to set up a business.

Looks like he was after one last payday, and keeping his faculties intact.

Did Danny Green **** your girlfriend or something?

The posts here, and the ones I flicked through in the Aussie forum are just pure bile.

If I won a WBA world title, (and not a shitty one like Mundines, there's no super champ above Green), I'd celebrate like buggery, especially if it was in front of my home town. I wouldn't care how I won it.

I hate when fighters do this. They shouldn't con people into buying tickets if that's what is going to happen. No one should be bilked into contributing to someone's retirement scheme.

I'm not saying that's what happened here, but it sure looks that way.

I agree 100%. I'm happy that Green won a title, but that sort of attitude from Drews blows.

He gets clocked early, thinks "stuff this, I'm retiring anyway", and spends the rest of the fight just trying to not get hurt too much.

He could have at least come out and decided to end it one way or the other in the first round.

I wouldn't celebrate after that, he bought a title from a guy who got given a title who didn't come to fight but get a well paid vacation to australia in his last fight. A true champion, someone who believes they are a champion isn't going to celebrate after that. It's a shame that guys like Green and Mundine aren't interested in becoming champs, especially mundine because he actually has the ability, these guys care about meaningless belts that they can use to boost their egos and to sell their c grade fights to unintelligent boxing fans such as yourself who actually believe these rubbish belts mean something.
