Danny Jacobs has cancer

Hope he comes through this ok, bad news man.

 

He had his treatment and is cancer-free at the moment. Currently sparring for a potential comeback next year according to the article. Sounds like his leg doesn't co-operate with him fully, but hopefully he'll still be able to make something of his career.

What a horrible turn his life took though. Grandmother dies a week before the biggest fight of his life, doesn't even feel like fighting and loses for the first time in his career. Then, getting ill. Terrible luck. All the best to him for the future.

 

Glad to hear Danny's cancer-free at the moment, but still haven't heard what kind of cancer he had.

This is a very sad story. To be 24 and have a type of cancer like that is terrible.

 

In May, Jacobs was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, an aggressive cancer that manifested itself in a quarter-sized tumor, wrapped around his spine, which damaged his nerves and caused partial paralysis in his legs. Rumors swirled that Jacobs was dying.

Osteosarcoma was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I'm not sure.


According to the article, he had a tumour growing on his spine.

Damn, that's crazy. He's so young. If his leg doesn't recover fully he really shouldn't step in the ring again. I hope he makes a recovery.

 

Horrible news. Poor guy. Hope he gets better and gets all the support he needs. People still talking about his career but something like this puts everything else into perspective.
