Canelo would turn his face away as GGG`s right landed taking the power out then get off the ropes moving to his left that is good footwork.
Canelo beat GGG on the inside watch when he came forwards how he would win exchanges he just couldn`t do it enough!
Gahdamn I love this matchup. Regardless of how the rematch does I hope to either see this fight or either of these two against lemieux. Ill be honest Id really have to study this fight to feel comfortable picking a winner here. Its that close in my opinion... at least on the surface. I could see a case for either fighter... I think Jacobs has the edge in dictating the fight but Im not confident in how he would deal with Canelos speed or power. Could be a case where Jacobs wins more minutes but Canelo wins his minutes more emphatically. And if Canelo can land his bombs on Jacobs I question his ability to stay upright... Canelo can bang. Awesome matchup.

Stylistically, Jacobs is a worse matchup for Canelo than GGG was, imo. if I was in Jacob's corner, I would employ those natural advantages to full use. Canelo's slow feet makes him susceptible to a good jab which Jacobs has. so I would hit Canelo with a busy accurate jab & work the body; and when Canelo attempts to exchange, Jacobs superior foot speed gets him out of there. in & out
I chose Jacobs because I think he has too many advantages over Canelo, not only has he got fast hands and feet as well as power, he also has a considerable size advantage over Canelo. The deciding factor for me is that Jacobs has a good engine whereas we know Canelo gets gassed a lot. Jacobs is good defensively as well (not quite as good as Canelo) and will be taking many rounds due to Canelo's inactivity.

I favor Jacobs. He can match him for speed, is even taller and rangier than GGG, and is mobile enough to stay out of range of his counters.
By your logic Jacobs shouldn't have gone the distance with GGG. Canelo won't be in his preferred range often enough to hurt Jacobs too badly
