Someone of the people commenting on this thread are hypocrites. When fighters looks out for their financial interest they're called cowards and accused of ducking. Imagine, a promoter telling his client he's unable to fulfill his promotional obligation which requires him to pay what their contract entails.

You cannot call yourself an ATG & TBE when you pick and choose your opponents. To be the Greatest you've got to beat the greatest out there. Floyd lost $$$$ fighting Baldomir instead of Margarito was that "looking after his financial interests" ??? No it was because he knew he couldn't beat Margarito

mostly i was disagreeing with the post i responded to, the 'dark side of boxing' and all that nonsense. Boxers at williams level have much more earning potential than the same guy who can't box, is it illegal or impossible to learn a new trade or change career in your 30's?
