Actually a large offer WAS made in writing, but there were certain stipulations that were untenable at the time.

Boxing would be very different no doubt.

Still tho there are certain aspects i like currently with boxing, we just need more co-operation between rival promoters & these ABC belts need to merge into about only 2 major titles per weight class.

And just when you think its too quiet and Vic isnt saying anything he gives to Montiel in a big way. You know what I love Vic but sometimes he's a bit over the top, this time his spot on the money.

WBA/WBC super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan (36-2-1,27KO’s) is not happy with recent comments made by WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel (43-2-2, 33 KOs) who stated the current IBO bantamweight champion is running scared of him.

Darchinyan who won the IBO title in May by outpointing Eric Barcelona says that Montiel has only fought one real fighter in Johnny Gonzalez and that he lacks courage to fight the Australian-based, Armenian-born champion. “Montiel needs to get his head right and stop believing the fairy tales Top Rank have been telling him,” Darchinyan said.

“I would fight Montiel today,” he continued. “The guy has been fighting bums and every time he steps up to decent opposition he gets found out. The only real fighter he has fought is Johnny Gonzalez who bashed him. Since then he has been feasting on bums. Valdez knocked him out and then it was ruled a technical decision. Why hasn’t he fought Valdez again? I will tell you why, because he knows he is a pretender. The same thing will happen to Montiel as happened to his brother, he will be bashed and smashed. He hasn’t got the balls to face me so he does what Donaire does and hide behind Bob Arum and just talk bull****, look at there past few fights they have both been fighting bums. Montiel talks about beating Hasagawa, Hasagawa was offered a fight against me a lot of times but didn’t want any part of me because he knows like Montiel, he would be knocked out cold.”

Darchinyan added, “It’s big of Montiel to talk now. He had the chance to take part in a tournament to see who is the best but didn’t want anything to do with it. You know why? Because the four fighters in this tournament are real and will punch back. Go back to fighting no names Fernando, that’s the reason why you cant make it on US TV, because like Donaire you’re a pretender. Be a man and fight real opponents, you will never be a undisputed champion because you have no balls. I’m here and ready anytime princess!!! The reason why Mexican fans love me is because I fight anyone, anytime, anywhere. I don’t pick and choose. Go and fight Alejandro Valdez again! Oh that’s right you won’t because he already smacked you once and you got found out, Top Rank wont let that happen again!”

Darchinyan is scheduled to defend the IBO championship against Mexican Abner Mares (20-0-1, 15 KOs) on December 11 in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Mares boxed a twelve round draw against Yonnhy Perez in an IBF title attempt in May.:bbb:bbb:bbb
