Yeah Kegsy , I think Vic's manager isnt taking any risks here for this Mijares bout, apparently he has brought in a whole range of styles to simulate the way Mijares switches.
Apparently Elias Nasser has already organised Abner Mares and Dainel Ponce De Leon for sparring when Vic gets to Vegas this weekend with his Armenian trainer.

I think Mijares is going to be ambushed by Vic.

Three weeks before the fight, I'm a little surprised that Vic is sparring bigger, slower guys.

I know their isn't a talent pool of sparring partners for him but I'm guessing his team could have brought out someone/s from overseas for him.

Even with Mares and Ponce Deleon in the US if they have scouted them for sparring, I don't see too much resemblance their to what Mijares will bring.

He may end it with one shot so it could all mean little.

Have you seen Mijares fight ? He is quick but no quicker than Lovemore Ndou. Only one big difference Lovemore is hard to hit thats why he has never been KO'd. Mijares gets hit a lot and Navarro who is another southpaw got thru a lot of straight lefts. It will only take one straight left from Vic to Mijares's attention . Mijares wont run , he thinks he can KO Vic , he will stand and trade. U think Gary St Clair is SLOW, they lack pop, but they aint slow. Abner Mares is going to be future star who is already stepping up.

Lets wait till Nov 2 , until then I am accepting all bets.

THIS IS A TOTAL MISMATCH ! BULL WILL KO MIJARES !!!

    GO THE RAGING BULL !!!!

    Clutching straighty, clutching.

Ndou has a rock solid chin, thats why he hasnt been stopped. We know he has this chin because of the shots he stood up to against Cotto, Witter, Mitchell and a whole bunch of other decent fighters.

I would rate Mijares as clearly the better defensive fighter.

Lovemore and especially Gairy are great preliminary sparring partners but I would hope Vic has some sparring partners more Mijares size lined to get him properly prepared.
Gairy isnt as slick as he was.

Even with world class Ndou and St Clair, it just looks like Vic may be working on his strength game and is simply going in there to knock out Mijares.

He needs the ko to win imo. He can't outpoint Mijares.

That is true, no time to be cutesy or over analyze the situation. Vic does one thing well and that's bash the living shite out of people.

I think he can outpoint Mijares but it would be one of those fights where he just dominates Cristan into a shell with his strength & power.

Like going for the knockout, never getting it but winning the fight in the process.
