I have collected a huge library of boxing books since 1979.. One of the best "STANDARDS" as i put it is The Black lights... a great book and way ahead of its time .. written around the careers of Billy Costello, Gerrie Cooney, Leroy Haley etc... Dark trade is a very good book, but two that arent mentioned here are "Serenity" and "Blood Season" Great books... And from the Biography genre... Johnny Nelsons book is a very good read, as too is the original Joe Frazier Biography "Come out Smokin' , by Phil Pepe." God Bless..

I'd been waiting years to read this book, and what a pile of shite it turned out to be. Unbelievably tedious, especially the stuff on Toney.

    McIlvanney's book is brilliant.

Not read this one yet, will pick it up on Amazon along with Sugar Ray Leonard's autobiography.
