Darren Barker feeling undaunted by Sergio Martinez

I think its just a shame theres no one really there for him at 160. The way 168 is panning out it may be better for Martinez to sit tight for a couple of years at 160 and then move up against whoever wins out of Bute and the winner of the Super 6?

 

Abraham has been found out to be just a one trick pony by Dirrel and Froch. And Taylor has had too many big losses of late.

You're big enough if you're good enough (Pacquiao, Mayweather are prime examples)... And let me tell you Martinez is good enough!

Ok the super 6 wouldn't have helped but I can only now hope 2012 he does seek these big fights.

 

No way Martinez would destroy Froch 'use my chin as my defence'! He's on another level. Although Ward would be quite close though IMO.

Again I'll argue with if you're good enough than going up a few weights within reason shouldn't hinder you that much.

Martinez's walking around weight is huge. Higher then most super middles. He's also put on a lot of muscle mass so he might have no choice but to move up soon.

 

Darren is someone I really admire and I hope he does well.....but I've seen nothing from him that indicates he is a match for Martinez and my head tells me that Martinez will destroy him quickly. I wish him the best though
