It really wouldn't surprise me if Daniel Dubois starts going over old ground, rematching the likes of Emmanuel Lartey and Nate Gorman.

 

A toe in the water jobby instead of diving straight in at the deep end. If he's as good as he seems to think he is, then at least fight someone who has a winning record in an 8 rounder.

It seems to me like he's content to just go through the motions and take fights that he'll learn absolutely nothing from.

 

The issue is probably budget….

Got the technique and physical tools but not the heart for it.

 

It is and travel restrictions. My understanding is Allen was unsure what to do after retiring at a young age. He was likely told by Dennis Hobson that he can pick up decent money for 4-6 rounders and sell his ff his name. 6 4-6 rounders at £15-20k a pop is decent money and give Hobson good exposure for his shows.

At the time it sounds a good idea but then the reality of it for Allen is he’s headlined at the o2 and fought on Sky and still gets an itch for the bigger fight .

 

That is insane money for what he's doing and what he brings to the table, he's an awful boxer

Allen has quite openly said he’s getting no money for these so the quality of his opponent will be poor as he’s paying them himself.

That said, if he’s going after Babic next he needs much better preparation than someone who’s going to let him slap them about for 2 rounds. I don’t rate Babic but he’s fresh and will charge after Dave like a bull in a china shop and if he’s done his usual routine of beating dossers up and training himself in his back garden he will get beat up and stopped.

 

Not sure what the situation is but people will be interested in Allen vs babic, is Hearn happy to put babic in with Allen is a different question though

Price vs Babic would have been an entertaining fight. Shame pricey wasn't calling for it as he'd most likely have dealt him.
