Ok, so what happens if another boxer is interviewed and says Chisora was the weakest puncher he faced and ranks him below 11 other people? How do you rationalize that?
Wouldn't care. I wouldn't say they was lying, it's all down to the person getting punched in the face.
Lol it is funny how naive people believe this. Wait because Allen said it then it must be true. 99 percent of the time you hear a fighter talking about another person's punching power they lie. Shannon Briggs said for years that Lennox Lewis didn't really punch hard even though Lewis knocked him out. James Tillis said Tommy Morrison and Tim Witherspoon weren't really big punchers. Both guys knocked him out in the first round. If you honestly think Chisora punches harder than Ortiz, Dubois, Joshua, Whyte, David Price then maybe you should think about stop watching boxing. Let me take that back, if you think Chisora punches harder than those guys then you clearly don't really watch boxing to began with.
Funny how quite a few rate Chisora's power but it wouldn't really appear that good watching his fights.... little knockdowns and the opponents faces are never beat up that much.
Some guys go by actual pain they felt when asked that question. Or even damage. I can’t really imagine Chisora hitting harder than Joshua or Price. George Foreman said the hardest hitters he fought hit him so hard “It didn’t hurt”
I don’t know how accurate your list can really be if you are including guys you only sparred with (and several of these names are likely just a limited amount of sparring as well) with opponents from actual fights.
There are different types of power. Objectively you would assume that AJ and Dubois hit harder than Chisora. They both have much higher KO% and if either fought Belly x 3 or Whyte x 2 they would more than likely bare minimum drop them at least once, AJ obviously knocked Whyte out Gerald ''Glass Jaw'' Washington who has been stopped in all five of his other losses went the distance against Chisora But then again Chisora dropped the very tough Big Joe Joyce, J-Park and Takam with single shots You also have to factor the level of Chisora's opposition compared to theirs too. He's fought everyone and their dog And he's slower than AJ and Dubois, doesn't have snap on his shots, swings from the fences and all his power blows are hooks so you probably see them coming more easily than you see AJ and Dubois' shots and can brace yourselves to take them better Either way, he's obviously a huge unit and extremely heavy handed and both Usyk and Allen who have fought or sparred a crazy amount of the hardest punching CWs and HWs in the world say he's the hardest puncher they've shared a ring with
I think the list is based on his experience. Browne just never landed anything of note on him. I don´t recall Price landing that many eye catching shots that night. He simply boxed Allen into submission. The 10th round was nothing but jabs from Price. The fight was stopped because Allen had no gas left, not because Price clocked him with a big shot. This content is protected Meanwhile Usyk nearly tore his head off. So I am not surprised that he ranks him above Browne or Price. This content is protected
I am trying to think of fights where the opponents weren´t visible bothered by his power: Vitaly, Pulev 1, Kabayel and Fury 3. In every other fight, Chisoras power is evident and he often stuns his opponents. Heck, he even knocked down Safetypin. If Chisora were a better boxer, his power would be more evident.
That's my thought as well. His punches are quite telegraphed so the opponents have time to brace themselves if they can't avoid them, but I think the impact is quite clear. I wouldn't be half surprised if Parker agreed with Allen and Usyk. Chisora put him down with the weight of the blow more than anything like a clean hit from memory. A guy who also has great power but who can deliver accurately without telegraphing, like Zhang, will of course be more dangerous. But doesn't necessarily mean that he has more raw power (not saying Zhang doesn't, just as an example).
