I really like Dave Allen, I really like Lucas Browne, so may the best man win. Which will be Lucas Browne, by devastating KO.
As bad as Dave Allen is, even he is better than Browne. The only worry for Allen is whether he has the stamina to last 12 rounds. It's crucial because Browne is very heavy and I don't think Allen has the power to put him down like Whyte did. If Dave Allen works on the stamina, he wins a massively dominant decision. If he tires in the later rounds, then Browne will probably KO him. Allen is light years ahead of Browne, it's just a question of whether he can maintain it over 12.
I like Browne but he has looked like garbage in his last couple fights. He looks slower than ever and struggled with wino's from the alley.
Well lucky for him, Allen skillwise is wino from the alley level. Dave's best win just got brutally KO'd by Sokolowski.
To be fair, I think Sokolovski would beat current Browne and Allen too. The guy is tough like hell and can punch, improves with every next fight.
Possibly, I wouldn't rule it out, he's a very underrated fighter, but still....I think Browne can take Allen's power long enough to put Dave down, that left hook Whyte landed on him would probably flatten most HW's.
I'd be impressed if Browne gets the KO, nobody has really managed to stop that boy yet. Ortiz was close but Dave clearly reminded him of his grandson and he couldn't quite pull the trigger. At least both guys should be motivated.
I wouldn't rule out the fight going the distance, but Lucas Browne and a guy that blocks punches with his face, is a recipe for a highlight reel KO.
Lol I was actually thinking about the same thing with the exact same words. But there are few things I believe in this world and Dave Allen's chin is one of them. Bring it on Lucas.
Thought it was a bit early stoppage when I first saw it back then. Just took another look and it was more legit than I remembered, lot of clean shots to the head and not throwing anything back.
At this point I think if Allen shows up in shape he can beat Browne. Browne is past his best and Allen did worse vs Whyte than Allen did.
A little concerned for both guys actually, neither of have even remotely good defense and they both punch very hard. Browne has a decent chin, Allen’s is beyond ridiculous. Could make Allen’s last fight look tame by comparison.
