I'm glad Peterson didn't fight Berto first. He would have made that bum look like a beast. He might not be very good at 147 as far as power goes.

Round 11

Avanesyan is falling in and throwing some fluffy but sustained body shoe-shines. Peterson is tired now, leaning on Avanesyan, winging arm punches down at his abdomen, letting his fists hang low as though at the end of pendulums, generating no force on anything from his legs. Avanesyan is exhausted as well but working his ass off. Lots of Peterson's body shots now bouncing off Avanesyan's hips or elbows. Avanesyan is actually getting a piece of legal scoring areas, lightly needling Peterson's tummy.

Avanesyan took charge early in the round, but Lamont dominated late by turning to find room to rip to the body. I know it's no clinic or domination but I have Peterson winning 11-0.

Avanesyan is getting hit on the body as they meet in center ring, and Peterson drives him off with some right hand leads on the ear. Avanesyan is covering up and pushing his folded arms out against Peterson, getting hit down below without bothering to dip his elbows to block. Avanesyan tries a few uppercuts and misses them behind Peterson, while getting slapped along the flanks. Peterson is mugging Avanesyan onto the ropes, ramming his chest into Avanesyan's face. Uppercuts traded and blocked. Peterson lands a hook downstairs. Big chopping right inside by Peterson landing on Avanesyan's neck. Avanesyan is doubled over and Peterson lands a looping right on the kidney. Big right hand up top by Peterson. Avanesyan scores a soft jab.

Peterson is one of the strangest fighters in boxing. You wouldn't believe this is the same guy who fought Garcia a while back and you also wouldn't believe either of those performances were the same guy who fought Khan.
