Under what circumstances ? at what right times ? They weren't old or very declined which is what fighting somebody at the right time generally means. so Canelo saw the chance at 168 to gain some sore of advantage ? Or... now stay with me... he became undisputed at 168 by beating the guys with the belts.
Last few Benavidez does not fight like that. But regardless Canelo should stay on him and break him down while using head movement at mid range like he did against Jacobs. And Canelo showed good head movement against Smith. You are correct in that he showed less in his few previous fights I did not say that lol ! I said Canelo wins 7-5 which means a close decision in todays age. He can't fight like that but i never said he should fight like that. Not once. I already pointed out that Canelo had better head movement that Lemieux and he would need to use it.
He beats Plant and Saunders based on what ? His life and death fight against Maksym Bursak ? One where many thought he was gifted ?
Saunders looked like warmed over ass for years after the Lemieux fight. Caleb "not bad for 21-0, huh?" Plant is straight up garbage.
You're not wrong, but Benavidez wasn't the only champion and he got stripped, again... If Benavidez was still champion and Canelo avoided him for undisputed then it would be a clear duck
Yet Saunders and Plant still didn't get gifted and go hell and back against somebody of Maksym Bursak's calibre. Also Saunders straight up schooled Lemieux and is more skilled in almost every department. Quite funny isn't it ? Any version of Saunders beats Lemieux
Benavidez didn’t get stripped til his August fight. It’s pretty obvious he didn’t want to fight him. He didn’t say anything about unifying til after Benavides was stripped. It’s pretty clear to me. Canelo like every guy in his position is an opportunist. I don’t blame him but I won’t applaud him for it either when there are other better fighters available.
Then we'll see how Benavidez's career plans, because one bad fight is all it takes and it'll happen soon in my honest opinion. He's quite overrated after last night, to the point where people think he's better than Dimitry Bivol which is quite laughable. A large light heavyweight weight bully who refuses to move up vs a small light heavyweight who is champion at lightweight with an impressive resume. It's clear who would win. Lets hope Benavidez becomes mandatory so it can be put to bed whether he's ducking. I'd like to see Benavidez and Canelo
