Your on crack! There's no logic to your argument. Haye has fought nobody. Valuev and Ruiz? What are you ****ing kidding me? And, old Holyfield could counterpunch Davids ass back to Liverpool or wherever the **** the rock is that this arrogant, skilless cockney cocksucker crawled out from under. By the way go watch any Holyfield fight up to around 1995. You'll see a great counterpuncher. Oh and by the way, Holyfield in 2010 can still whoop Hayes sorry, sorry ***** ass!
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrnjuQY9rek[/ame] This is one example, I'll let you find the rest yourself. Always looking to counter the jab with the big right hand over the top. On the front foot, but countering. So you've gone from Haye has little counter-punching ability, to...who has he fought? You know that counter-punching doesn't have to be when a boxer is on the back foot? "Davids ass back to Liverpool or wherever the **** the rock is that this arrogant, skilless cockney cocksucker crawled out from under"...this made me laugh. Also, find the post were I said Haye is a great counter-puncher.
Floyd fought fighters in their prime. When did Haye ever beat a top fighter in his prime? Maccarinelli is the best name on his resume! Floyd, as careful as he is lately, is a Top Tier ATG who FIRST had a illustrious career THEN started to care about Money. Again, Enzo Maccarnelli is the best fighter in his prime on David Haye's resume.
I have nothing but the utmost respect for Holyfield and what he achieved during his prime. But hes too old to hang with the younger fighters of Hayes quality. You just appear to be another American (correct me if Im wrong) who fails to bother analysing the early career of a British fighter. Because if you did, youd know that Haye likes to counter-punch his opponents. Thats what his game is, and despite what you may believe, he is pretty good at it.
I dont think the thread-starter was comparing the achievements of the two. Instead, its their attitudes which are almost identical - care little about doing the right thing and pleasing the fans, and instead, build a money-making brand and do everything to protect it.
maybe but I don't see where he has the best chance of beating the guys I mentioned. But I can't think of any weaker and unskilled fighter with a major belt. Can You?
he hasnt fought a top guy, and i mean a real threat and everybody knows that. I tihnk he is a fraud big time:good
Speed and explosive power alone is a huge factor in those bouts you mentioned...he has shown he can go 12 rounds with minimal shots thrown. A number of those guys would probably take him the 12, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was holding on in 1 or 2 of them. I don't believe he is weak or unskilled. The division as a whole is weak bar the top 4-5 spots...this is why Holyfield is still mentioned among the top guys, when really, he doesn't have a shot. The amount of titles being thrown around at the minute, I'm sure with time I could find at least a handful of weaker champions with a "major" belt.
This directed at me? My argument is that you believe he doesn't really counter punch (or has little counter-punching ability), when really, like Rico said, it's been a huge part of his game for almost all of his career. I'm not talking opposition, if I was, I would have brought that up in my argument.
