Haye brings excitement to either division which also happen to be the 2 worst divisions in boxing. Depends on who you want to see him fight i guess. Heavyweight would be interesting though this is because the heavyweights fight like old people **** slow and sloppy. Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield are all gone. Gone with them is the credibility of the whole division. It will be interesting to see how the Unification plays out and that ***** ass tournament.
He is a 6'3", 27 years old fighter who got KDed by a 5'11", 35 years old Mormeck, I don't think he'll have a very good chance against the 6"5' - 6'7" fighters at the heavies who pack punches much much heavier than Mormeck. If he could stay at cruiser better.
Nicely put mate:good I say he moves up. If he really has to kill himself to make weight he will fall apart and the longer he tortures himself the quicker his demise will be realized. You people saying "stay at cruiser" have never boxed or just don't understand what it's like trying to make weight.
Haye will have a fine carrier at crusierweight, perhaps top 5 all time. At heavyweight he might grab a belt but I doubt he will be linear like he is now.
I believe that's true . . . he admitted he's having difficulty making the cruiser . . . so yes that could be a factor why he got flashed KDed.
He can still make Cruiser, it's just very difficult for him and he can only get a fraction of the money and esteem that he could get at Heavy. Quite frankly, if he doesn't tighten up that defense then he's going to get knocked out. Mormeck hurt him and knocked him down, and the light hitting Fragomeni hurt him multiple times. Both men are much smaller and hit lighter then any serious heavyweight.
Heavy is where its at. Go ahead, Haye. Take the plunge. Get in there with the big boys. I am sure that Haye will make quite a splash at heavy. The heavyweight division can certainly use a good, powerful and very skilled fighter like Haye.
I agree. Get in there. If it doesn't work out he'll either have made a lot of money, or be able to go back to cruiser (if he wants to) anyway. Man, I can't BEGIN to describe the irony of having Wlad in your avatar and posting that......
cruiserweight is just too much now for haye, the guy is too big for the division. stripping 20lbs of healthy body isn't right, i still think the verdict is out on his chin though at heavy, i'm not willing to write it off just yet as the weight draining may have had a big effect.
Dont get started. Wlad is a very very skilled fighter who would beat 7 shades of **** out of David Haye. But you have no place to be talking about chins with anybody. Wlad has a bad chin. Haye at least has an excuse: he was/is weight drained. It may improve a la Miguel Cotto when he moves up Wlad does not have and excuse he just has a dodgy chin.
I agree. How many times has Haye been KD? and Wlad? How many times has Haye been TKO'd? and Wlad? I'm not saying Haye is as good as Wlad. Merely that the analysis of 'he's got a **** chin' is no more valid for Haye as Wlad.
to be fair, i think wlad is a bit like frank bruno was in regards to chin. both have average chins, not china but average, but neither like being hit, more so than other fighters, tend to panic when under fire and both have shitty survival skills. wlad's seemed to improve v peter, if hugging your opponent to death counts.
