So much **** talking on this thread. The guy who merely posted "Hype" seems to be the only person with any brains, I can't be arsed to wade through all the **** on this thread so I've stopped half way down page two.
To all the supposed people on either side of the thread, you've read conflicting accounts, you don't know what's been discussed nor what's true, don't jump too quickly to support your favourite, you don't know.

Without the UK money Haye brings NOTHING to the table.
As to the argument that the UK viewers watch the fight to see Haye: Would they also watch Haye-Ibragimov or Haye-Chambers?

To stage the fight in Germany doesn't make any sense btw, because noone knows Haye here (or outside of Britain in general).

It should be held in Holland as a compromise.

Good, but something tells me this fight won't be in America.

exactly. the big venue was the main incentive for wlad. booth couldn't deliver so the contract fell apart when all the terms were agreed upon.

the fight can't happen at the O2 either since it is booked.

now without the big venue, what does haye offer more than say arreola?

wlad could fight arreola at staples and sell it out in may. now, i'd rather wlad fight haye but it's got to make sense.

now, haye will fight in germany but wlad can sell out against anyone there. so why should haye get anything more than a standard optional?

K2 should just offer him a standard deal and if doesn't want it, just move on. wlad needs to be active. let haye talk all he wants.

  7. If Wlad wanted to fight in a stadium so much, why has he never fought in on of the many world class stadiums in Germany :huh

    Seconded.

For all we know, none of them are telling the whole story.

It probably is both sides keeping it from happening.

don't know the answer to that...however, it's still remains a fact that haye brought the big venue to the table and booth couldn't deliver. that's what set haye apart from other standard challengers. without it, he's just another optional. so, it doesn't make sense to defend in germany and offer him the same deal.

i want to see the fight too but booth and haye got to realize their FMV and can't be too greedy. haye said wlad was a "bum", so take the fight at stanadard terms and when haye wins he can earn the lion's share for the rematch.

he's got a great chance to fight the #1 hw, but booth's inexperience and foolishness may cost him the fight.

    don't offer what u can't deliver :bart

Well, in the end it is MONEY that keeps this fight from happening. I tend to have to think Haye just doesn't bring as much to the table as hoped/promised. If the money was right, this would be signed, sealed, delivered..........

  11. First of all Haye offered nothing in terms of venue.... it was K2's idea to have it in Chelsea F.C

Second of all Haye is not just another challenger, Haye was a CW undisputed champ and this is a fight EVERYONE in the sport wants to see.

Chris Arreola is still unknown and is still fighting at WBC Intercontintel level, it would be a joke if Wlad fought him instead.

no matter whose original idea it was, it was haye's popularity that was supposed to draw in 40k. without that element, haye loses a lot of his leverage.

his cw success... it counts for some, it makes him a legit challenger but it doesn't entitle him to more than a standard optional since the chelsea venue fell apart.

imo arreola and haye both rank between #11-15 as hws right now. so id put them near the same level. neither has beaten a top 10 hw. had haye fought and beaten 2 real top 10 hws, he'd be in a much better position to negotiate. just take the fight with wlad and the bigger money follows in the rematch :yep

i prefer haye but if they cant come to a reasonable agreement both should move on.

I agree that Wlad needs to be an active Champion. Screw Haye he should fight Arreola in May in Los Angeles that way he might could get 3 fights in for 2009.

  14. I'm really struggling to think of 10 better fighters than Haye at HW :think

True he hasn't done much at HW but he is already a legitamate world class boxer... where as Arreola is still down at Intercontinetal level.... If Wlad decides a fight with Chris he's gonna get flamed RIGHTLY or WRONGLY from the fans and boxing media

Well when you're on somebody's payroll, that's how you eat. CHEF is like a plant for K2. Have to take some of what he says with a grain of salt, though it is nice to have his input at times.
