you wlad fans are ****ing priceless. you bang on about haye not deserving a shot at wlad because he's proven nothing at HW and an unknown quantity. if that's the case then doesn't this fight make sense for him? fighting a guy who's pretty much gone but still has a name and a decent dig. he's surely just dipping his toes in the shallow end. this is the perfect fight for an unknown quantity moving up in weight.

secondly, cherry picker? pleeeeease. the guy became undisputed CW champ after what, 20 odd fights? wladdy's had over 50 and still hasn't been crowned the king of his division.

It isn't a bad first fight at all. That said we should recognize that Oleg looked every bit of 39 against Peter, it didn't help that he had such a long layoff on top of that. I think Oleg would be a relatively easy victory for some prospects/contenders out there like Povetkin, Dimitrenko and Arreola, but he also had a title and packs enough of a punch that he can be looked at as a bit of a threat while having a weak enough chin that he can be used to score that impressive win.

If they fight I expect Haye to stop him, probably in more impressive fashion than Peter, after that I'd like to see Haye take on Arreola assuming he beats Tua.

I don't know... Haye KO1? It could be Maskaev KO1 either. Haye got everything to win against The Big O, speed, power, better stamina... but Maskaev got power too, and is more experienced than Haye... Probably Haye would KO Maskaev, but I am not sure for 100%, cause Oleg is still a very dangerous boxer.

So far Wlad fans have complain Maskaev, Barret, Meehan and Rahman vs. Toney winner as possible opponent. So it doesn’t really mater who Haye fights they will still complain.

I think its an excellent fight for Haye.

Top 10 ranking, WBC champ few months back and considering the heavyweights actually available for a fight this should be a solid test.

Haye will be too quick for Maskaev

    Haye KO3 Maskaev :good

    Then on to Wlad!!!!!!!!!!!! :bbb

Yeah it is quite unbelievable. According to this forum if Haye fights Rahman, Barrett or Maskaev he is a "joke" and all his talk of fighting a legit heavy was hot air.

Who the **** can he fight? The reason the names look crap is because outside of Wlad the division is a pile of ****. Peter and Chagaev are not available and are champions.
Who should he be fighting if the guy who was WBC champion one fight ago and was deemed acceptable for Sam Peter to face is a "joke opponent" and if big punching Rahman who is fighting Toney is also a joke?

Lets see 5 names that would be acceptable given that he is not getting to fight one of the three champs until he is proven.

Wlad is not undisputed only because of the BS politics of HW boxing and you know it too.

Oleg is an easy, safe mark for Haye due to his being old, slow & having a less than stellar chin.

This fight will prove very little.

If they ever do fight, I certainly hope Wladimir doesn't show such casual and dismissive lack of interest or he'll end up studying the ringlights.

Strike has it right. Give us your list of 5 acceptable opponents for Haye, Ruskull.
    Who should he be fighting?

getting KTFO when he seemed on the verge of big things by sanders and brewster didn't help either.

....and come on, you guys keep banging the "not proven" drum, this is the sort of fight an unproven but talented guy should be taking, right? a good name, past his best but who can still dig and was a champ as recently as march. oleg is also top 10 ranked by two ABC orgs so haye is sticking to that part of the agreement.

you can't cry about him not being ready for the big guns AND for taking an easyish entrance into the HW division.

this fight is no worse than the other options, barrett, mccline, mccall etc. thrown up in this thread.

The reason wlad is not undisputed is because he hasn't won all the belts.

Also you say the fight proves very little

Well same could of been said about the wlad - sanders fight, before wlad got ktfo

Maskaev is not that bad, of anything its BETTER than Rahman.

After all, it was Maskaev who sparked Rahman clean out of the ring when they last fought, he is a name, recent WBC champ and is highly ranked.

Will this test Haye? Probably not, but who cares, a nice early KO of a former champ is not a bad way to start making waves.

Mike Mollo is coming off a loss against Golota. Why not throw Haye in against Mollo? Winner advances.

I am fine with Haye fighting guys like Barrett, Rahman and Maskaev for his first real fight at heavy, ie a real move up. After that I'd like him to face someone who is more durable and a bit more of a test, a Larry Donald or McCall type fighter, you just cannot discount the ability of someone to go 12 and still fire back at you. Then from there fights with people like Arreola would be nice.
