David Haye has a new trainer World Renowned Boxing Coach Ismael Salas joins forces with David Haye as new Head Coach. Former Unified Cruiserweight and WBA Heavyweight World Champion David 'The Hayemaker' Haye has today announced that he will be joining forces with highly decorated Boxing coach Ismael Salas. Haye explained, "I am thrilled to welcome Salas, whom I have known for a number of years, into my team as head coach. I have huge respect for what he has achieved on the World stage, and place huge value on what he can bring to my armoury. I am determined to not only get back on the main stage of the Heavyweight division, but to be better than ever, with a renewed skill set to recapture World Titles." 60-year-old Salas has lead the corner of no less than 19 World Champions. His stable has included some of the greatest skilled fighters ever in both amateur and professional boxing. Within the amateur's he lead the corner for a number of Olympic stars including two-weight World Champion and Olympic Champion, Joel Casamayor Johnson, as well as three-time Olympic and six-time World Champion Felix Savon, whose success has unquestionably cemented him as a legend in the amateur ranks. Salas' professional success includes; WBA super-bantamweight World Champion Guillermo Rigondeaux, former unified featherweight World Champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, former four-weight World Champion Nonito Donaire, former two-weight World Champion Jessie Vargas and super-welterweight World Champion Erislandy Lara to name just a few. And he is the current coach of Ring Magazine and unified lightweight World Champion Jorge Linares, who has based himself in London for the foreseeable future. Salas explains, "Naturally, I have followed David’s comeback with great interest, he is a proven world class talent in an incredibly exciting division. Boxing fans want to see him back in the biggest shows hunting World Titles and that is exactly where I believe he belongs. David is in great shape, he was clearly very focused on his rehabilitation and this has proved key to his recovery. He is already demonstrating notable power in the gym and I’m looking forward to an exciting few months ahead."
wont make a difference, haye is finished and only fighting for money. i hope AJ doesn't give him the payday as he doesn't deserve it, even if he came back and KO'd Bellew.
He's been done since Wlad totally dominated him. He's had a good career but it could have been so much better, he'd never of beaten either Klitschko but if he had fully dedicated himself year in year out instead of chasing the Z list celeb lifestyle he could have been spoken about as a ATG Brit.
36 years old with a recent 3.5 injury timeout... Then in his first real fight from that 3.5 year injury timeout he was beaten by a CW, as his body fell apart during the fight. Haye is finished as top level HW. Its a legitimate question to ask if he is even top 20 at HW. However if AJ wants an easy win for big money, then surely Haye must be top of the list. So from his perspective its worth it to fight low level and hope he can get a big name and big money fight, as he is being divorced and thats very expensive in feminist England where women get 50% plus of all of a mans wealth just for cleaning and cooking and taking the sausage monster now and again
Haye is a complete fraud....i simply cannot believe he has/had this fanbase !!! Can somebody please enlighten me why anybody cares who his trainer is? He has done ZERO to brag about at Heavyweight and he is 8 years into the weight.... he is almost like a HW Amir Khan
Never mind the trainer, Haye needs some paralympic running blades. Because his feet are shot to pieces, let's face it.
Contrary to pretty much everyone by the looks of it. I think this is good news for haye. Lets be honest hes still a big punching heavyweight....still worth tuning in to see what happens. I think his biggest mistake was shayne mcguigan. No disrespect to shayne but it wasnt really a good fit. They seemed to convince themselves...that no one could take hayes power. Didnt seem like they worked on how to set it up. Just practised punching hard...a lot. This guy should sort out hayes disasterous footwork under mcguigan. Was convinced it was the injury. But the more i look at it i think it was actually just mcguigans footwork. Wanted him to move about less no bouncing about. Haye was never the same without booths footwork. Left him too predictable and out of ideas. Hayes still got punch power. Speeds on the wane but it,ll improve if he loses some timber. This guy should get him setting up his shots better.
Can't wait until Haye proves everyone wrong. I think we'll have a situation where the majority of UK boxing fans and casuals will then suddenly jump back on the bandwagon and act like they always backed him.
I really misunderstood, I was about to come in here and say "personally I like Lacoste, I find them very comfortable" Different sort of trainer.
If he loses to Bellew when hes healthy then no excuses, because that is father time, not Bellews skills !
Bellew can't fight at all, if Haye loses to him his career is over, but he deserves a chance to come back.................then we will see.................
