David Hayes new trainer

As a massive Haye fan, if he doesn't take the Bellew rematch I will be totally disappointed in him. So long as the offer matches what Bellew was given as B-Side in the first fight, there's no reason why Haye shouldn't take it. What's the point in fighting on with a torn Achilles if you then turn down a chance to put things right fully fit. He should be hungry as hell to put things right.

 

I believe the Haye-Bellew rematch will happen.
All that talk about Bellew needing to get in the ring sometime this summer or before the end of the year (whenabouts Haye will be "fit again") was obviously not true.
Bellew is enjoying his new found status, and a Haye rematch is the most winnable lucrative fight for him out there.

 

Haye looks in ridiculous condition already. Could probably fight in September/October.

I'd like to see Haye drop his 'prizefighter' attitude for this comeback and stay active by fighting the likes of Ruiz, Hammer, Browne, Charr.. (or some domestics against Price/Allen). Decent level but very beatable guys IMO by a fully fit Haye. Forget the big paydays for a second and fight a few of these guys on terrestrial TV in relatively quick succession before the end of the year to build up his ranking, credibility, but more importantly some much needed ring sharpness. The 10 month inactivity between Gjergjgjg and Bellew did him no favours..

Make Bellew wait for his rematch. Let him disrupt his own winning momentum in the meantime by getting ironed out by Wilder or Ward for peanuts while you string up some comfortable wins.

Then nail Bellew early next year. Credibility restored. World title shot in the summer.

 

The only issue I have really with this, is that if Bellew has a fight before the rematch and loses bad, then it won't do half the numbers it should.

I really can not see EH risking it.
