David Lemieux: One Month Until Ugly Saunders Gets Destroyed!

This is not an easy fight for either of them.

Saunders is obviously the better boxer, but he's not so much better that it will be impossible for Lemieux to land on him. We've all seen Saunders gas out in fights whereas Lemmy carries his atom-bomb power late.

IMHO it's all going to come down to BJS and his preparation. If he does the roadwork and can fight the distance, he wins, maybe even by late KO. If he's been eating hedgehogs with Tyson Fury then he looks good for 4 rounds, and then Lemmy takes over for a brutal mid-rounds finish.

 

Yep Saunders could well be the real no 2 middleweight for all we know,what he did to Lee was mighty and mpressive.

 

That's true but he looked like crap against Akavov and not very impressive against Monroe. He needs to step it up in training, he can't afford to take a dude like Lemieux lightly.

 

I like Lemieux, but his hands are not fast enough, his combinations are not long enough and he himself is not crazy enough to be a stellar boxer.

 

I guess you're referring to the early knockdowns that eventually won him the fight, and not getting caught by Lee's infamous come from behind right hook closer?
It's a good win, and might tell us something about Saunders' chin and defence when it matters, plus his ability to just edge opponents no matter the level. But with Lemieux I don't think that will do the trick.
If he makes it to fhe final bell, in my opinion Saunders' only chance is if he wins clearly. He doesn't have his usual home advantage (for the first time in a big fight) so can't rely on the judges to score it in his advantage when close. Doesn't have his crowd behind him and has to beat the GBP judges as well... I think a close Saunders decision as is his mo, would lead to a close Saunders loss in his opponent's backyard.

That is if he can keep LeMoew off him for 12 rounds while still landing enough.

I think there's only one way for Saunders to actually win this, and that's a beforementioned "schooling", which I just can't see happening here.

 

Let's face it ...take away his power and Lemieux is very average. But what power!

BJS is a far better boxer and should win every round he doesn't get knocked down in.

 

This is Saunders' chance. If he wants to prove he's on the same level as GGG/Canelo/Jacobs, he has to win 9 or 10 clear rounds against Lemmy who lost every second of the fight to 3G.

 

I like both fighters in a way,hard to pick who do i want to win in this one.

But Saunders should be able to outbox Lemi easily.Saunders got chin,can box,never been in trouble before and fought some punchers,Lee,Eubank [and yea Eubank can hurt you even if he doesnt have 1 punch ko power] .

BJS got poor stamina but still always manages to win at least 7-8 rounds and get the victory,gonna get robbed sooner or later that way tho.And still Lemi has bad stamina as well and that always been a trouble for him in the past.So theres only one winner here,Saunders in a boring decision.

 

Whatever it is, keep the little kid out of the weigh in.

 

Hes got the sneaky hook equaliser that's brought him to the title. Anyone in the pocket would be crazy to exchange with him. Keep him at arms length and tie him up and smother. Theres a reason GGG boxed him, he didn't want to play in to Lemieuxs hands and get hurt. That goes for everyone he faces

Yes this is how I see it,take away the power and Saunders will win the rounds easy,just levels above Lemieux and I mean a good few levels

 

It'll be interesting to hear what Saunders has to say in response. Lemieux has a puncher's chance but I fully expect Saunders to out box him.
