I'm prepared to say his ring intelligence isn't where it should be in the later rounds (re: Naugler fight), but he SEEMS to have great stamina to compensate. Even though Anber will actually direct him to slow down and box circles around a guy to save energy for the next round, David will respond to each & every attack his opponent launches. Not in an overly aggressive manner, but he'll either let a 1-2 or a short series of hooks to the body go after he gets hit flush by his opponent. As far as ring intelligence in terms of physical ability, he's able to close the distance fairly fast which gets him inside... his office, really. Goal being a full tear down of the high guard by starting downstairs... left hooks to the head or powerful rights will usually finish the job. He can cut a ring, but hasn't faced very fast movers... Martinez looks like a jet fighter next to David.

No question whatsoever about his heart. He's a time bomb. Calm and composure... lots of hunger in the ring. He loves to fight.

His chin hasn't been fully tested yet. Hasn't faced guys who could throw real bombs. The biggest hits he caught were against Naugler and Ayala I think. Never showed weak legs. Smiles back at his opponent when he gets hit significantly.

Your questions should get answered in the upcoming Rubio fight. :deal

The best way to test a fighter's heart is in the face of adversity, especially against a skilled opponent who knows how to capitilize. Lemieux hasn't had much adversity yet in his young career, so I think his heart still has to be tested to know for sure. He looks like a born fighter against lesser competition and we all think he's a born fighter, but DL wouldn't be the first "born fighter" to foil everyone's expectations and hopes.

Fair enough. I guess that tick in the box is in the books for 2011, as his people are talking about a title fight in the short to mid future.

He's very much loved here in Canada, he's the coolest dude you can ever meet and very low profile in public.

I agree he has great potential-BUT don't you think we should wait a little before annointing him the next best thing since sliced bread?
2011,if he steps up his opponents should give us a better view of his future.

I'm not a fan of hip hop either. But I liked the remix of ''Non, je ne regrette rien'' at the begining. Quite surprising.
