This is a fight i would like to see, admittedly i think Seth Mitchell has faced a higher tier of opposition than Price, and has obviously had more rounds. I believe these are the best prospects we have from each of our countries and I'm interested to see how people think they would fare against each other. Personally I see Price getting KO'd within 3 or 4 rounds, but thats just my opinion, thoughts?
Not much way to tell really, Mitchell has an impressive resume on paper but the reality is very different, the fighters he beat with name value were mere shells. Simmilarly Price is untested, who knows how the styles would mesh?
very true, on paper a much better resume than price, i was genuinely shocked with ibragimov within 2 rounds, personally i dont think price or mitchell will ever fight a kiltschko. America wont risk heavyweight boxing possibly being brought back into the mainstream by a Klitschko beating Mitchell, altough personally I believe Mitchell beats both, given a year or two to develop.
At the stage of his career Mitchell really needs to fight a top 10 guy, any of Chambers Adamek Areolla Povetkin Really if he goes too far below that level its not worth it for him right now. I'd like to see Mitchell vs Areolla in an ideal world, two exciting American contenders, It will either show that Areolla is ready for one more title shot or Mitchell is.
yeah i think the best option would be arreola, no point taking a step back at this point. If he beats any one of them convincenly though I may genuinely believe someone may be crowned the new heavyweight champion of the world before 2013. No doubt Mitchell would be an exciting champ, just hope he wants it as much as I do!!
You could give him five years to develop with Vitali retiring and Wladimir ageing - Seth Mitchell still wouldn't be able to beat a Klitschko. He's not that great, it's just the **** poor standard of heavyweights Stateside that makes him appear so. As for his resume? It's not exactly that much better than Price's. The manner in which he beat Timur was impressive, but don't overlook the not inconsiderable detail of Timur being past his best. Mitchell probably will win an alphabet title, but once he has Golden Boy will wrap him up in cotton wool and avoid any top European heavyweights.
It is about levels and Price isn't on Mitchells level but he definitely has the ability, talent, skills and amateur experience to reach that level.
