Agreed. And it was funny how he had a more confident look about him after the Knockdown. He was throwing the jab which much more confidence. He also just missed with some brialliant left hooks. His power really is concussive. It doesn't even need to land flush.
Price definitley has the power, he has to train more on his defence. The knock-down was not even a hard punch, he has just bad balance.
Price has power and that's it. His jab is terrible for someone his size, he telegraphs his punches, his feet are slow and uncoordinated, his balance is bad, we know he has no stamina, his defence is poor and he has a very bad chin. Plus he's already the other side of 30, can't really see him doing much, not even in this current dire heavyweight division.
It's on Youtube or it was last night. Price was looking good after a shaky start in round one, he actually started throwing the jab regularly which I've never seen him do before and he picked a good right hand to finish the fight. Like others have said though for a big man he seems to give away so much space, he's a strong puncher he should be able to keep guys off him.
Yep, it was encouraging to see him stick to a sound game plan in round 2 after looking poor and being knocked down in 1. He looks so heavy on his feet though, Wlad gets away with having a poor chin by having brilliant footwork and moving in and out of range so well and then holding when he needs to. Price has a long way to go if he is to rebuild his career like Wlad has, I still think any top 10 heavy knocks him out at this stage.
My assessment - Price can fight on the inside, which is impressive for a man his size. - But he needs to work on his outside and defense. - Specially combinations - He still needs some fights to get his confidence back - Good footwork for a man his size - He lacks explosiveness and speed. I agree he is easy to read.
I agree the knockdown looked more like balance than anything else. He had both feet planted forward so had nowhere to go when he tried to go back with the punch. What concerns me is that he looks so top-heavy. I make no claim to expertise and I'm happy to be corrected, but he looks so W-I-D-E at the shoulders but I don't see any bulk in his core or thighs. It's like putting a massive howitzer on top of a Ford Fiesta. I really want him to do well, but he still looks fragile to me.
I don't know about that mate. Price would flatten Cornish in one or two rounds. It would be just like the Price-Dallas fight IMO. Cornish opponents are getting better, but to throw him in with Price would be mental. Cornish is still a young pup for a heavyweight at 25,26 or something like that, so there's no need to rush him.
The knock down was down to his balance. His jab looked better, his right hand is like a nuclear bomb.
No Rainbows and F*ck knows why mate? Steve Bunce said last week he was going to show it, but during the Copper Box show they said they would show it during the early morning Pacquiao-Bradley card, but they didn't have enough time and now it will be shown tonight on Bunce's hour at 7pm.
