David Price's stock gone right down?

I think if you move your feet quickly into range and unsettle him you have a chance. Price likes to fight at his tempo which is to pose and prod and set you up. It's all very thoughtful but i don't think he likes a higher tempo fight and he did show some of his weaknessess such as backing right up in straight line onto ropes.

He still dispatched Skelton well enough so good and bad in there.

 

I only watched the KO but he does need to step up the competition. Smashing people out in a few rounds isn't going to teach him much. His next opponent needs to be against someone that's going to test him. Chisora would possibly be a good test and indicator (if the right Chisora turns up)

 

I thought his footwork was quite good last night - he figured Skelton out very quickly and was timing his step back, right cross against that huge wide right towards the end. Both K brothers are mostly outside fighters and they've done 'ok.'

He won in two rounds regardless, one more domestic and he's got the Lonsdale outright and then I think we can expect him to step it up. I do hope he can get the Chisora fight, the way Delboy fights should show us exactly how well he can deal with someone roughing him up and trying to fight on the inside. For me he still wins before the halfway point (after getting hit a few times).

 

Problem is with Chisora he can't knock the skin off a rice pudding so it doesn't present the threat to that chin of his i really want and need to see.

I'm not sure how well Price would adapt if things weren't going his way. He's certainly a thinker in the ring & doesn't do much off the cuff.

Skelton is hardly much of a technician but in balling forward, he managed to back Price up far to easily. And the overhand right was there all night for Skelton if he wanted it.

 

He's Michael Grant waiting to happen. If he's lucky.

 

Being tucked away on BoxNation doesn't help him, & neither does his choice of opponents and lack of direction. Who's next, Danny Williams? Michael Sprott?

He's just plodding along waiting for the Klitschko's to retire if you ask me.

 

He was being overrated, perhaps his fans will now have more realistic excpectations.

The Chisora fight certainly looks a little more interesting after seeing Skelon apply pressure.

 

I said before the fight that he was being overrated.

He can't fight inside, he can fight backing up, he's not that fast

He's Robert Helenius all over again, but Helenius probably has the better chin

 

From the high it was on for KOing Audley Harrision!!

Theres def. some sensible middle ground to be found somewhere!

 

And Chisora beat Helenius handily.

Price vs Chisora would be a great fight and I'll be honest, I don't fancy Price's chances too much.

Chisora is also a bit of a bully in the ring and out of the ring in the build ups and you could see another 'freeze' like the Olympic semi final, where Camarelle showed Price can't contain bullies.

Price lost to Camarelle every time he faced him in the ams.

 

Price is just a good on top fighter

If I was him I'd just go for the klitschko fight ASAP, wlad can't fight inside neither, it'd just be a long range fencing match.

He'd probably lose but it's better to lose to him than chisora or someone
