[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3JRgun7wG8[/ame] Back in the 1990 world amateur titles in Sydney, the same titles that Tszyu fought at. Savon was a beast would of been interesting to see in the pro's, I can't ever remember anyone doing that to Tua
felix savon and teofilo stevenson are two of the biggest talents never to turn pro that i can think of, both would have been world champs and ATG'S in the pro's in my opinion, although they both already are in the amateurs and both probably transcend the amateur ranks
That was incredible power generated from a short distant. No doubt had Savon gone pro he would have dominated. Would have been interesting to see what he could have done to the likes of Lewis and a young pair of Klits
They were held in 1991 Tua would have only been young, maybe 17yrs old at the time and Savon about 24yrs....... That's a big difference in age and experience Nevertheless, Savon was very impressive and would've done well in the pros
savon has got to be the worst case of unfulfilled talent in the history of boxing. theres an absolute whos who list of wins on his amatuer record. would have been a massive threat to lennox imo.
Tua was 19 savon 24. But regardless Savon was doing that to the best amateurs in the world when he was 19. You have to at least admire a man who stands by his principles.
He was actually 18 at the time. Nothing about a grown man knocking out a high school kid is impressive IMO.
it is when you consider Tua was born with a jaw made from a titanium moon rock alloy cast in the depths of the Devil's Domain and the fact that the punch was nothing more than a love tap
Yeah it is impressive when you consider it's the semi final of the world championships and he does it at the start of the first round with 1 clean shot IMO. Regardless of age
Watched that a while ago,I think its very obvious that was the first time tua had been really hurt and being young didn't know what to do,also it was Savon, tua would have been sh@#$% himself anyway!!
