Again, let me say that Tua fights Barrett for the second fight of a three fight MTV contract. The third fight is in September against a Barrett look-a-like. Then the MTV contract is over (why did he sign it, you may ask. He got half a mil for fighting Cameron is why). Then he'll fight a top 5 guy in December. Why is all this such a bad thing?

BTW, Chagaev is fighting Meehan for an eliminator to fight Haye.

He's still under contract with Maori TV but after he fulfills that obligation, he should be back in the mix... IF he stays in shape...

Its a bit of evrything with Tua, I'd like to see him have one last good fight against a top 5-er then retire......damn this maori t.v contract crap, i think hes 38 now as well, so arguably way past his prime.....i watched his fight against cameron, he looked ok.....rusty, but acceptable lol :bbb

Tua is 37. He'll be 38 in November. The Maori TV contract is good for him. He still needs to work on his game, namely staying in condition, footwork, and volume of punches. He did all that against Friday. Friday is his first fight back in two years, except for the one round and some change demolition of Cameron. So, Tua needs to stay in the ring, and the MTV contract does that for him. There is talk about both Arreola and Rahman in December in New Zealand, but that's speculative. If he wins all those fights, he fights a Klit, probably Wlad, or Haye for a belt in early to mid 2011.

For most recent years it's certainly been true that Tua has been fighting far too sporadically agains inferior opponents.

But...he does seem to be finally getting a push on this year. He should be able to beat Barrett, who's pretty shopworn these days, and if he can get in another couple fights this year I think he could genuine make a run for a title shot in 2011.

He needs to keep busy. If he sits on his ass, any chances will disappear...it's very late in the game for him.

I would give him major props for fighting Rahman, mainly because I think he would lose.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. Chambers would school Tua like Byrd did. Chambers fought 4 top 10 HWs and beat 3 of them to get his title shot (Peter, Brock and Dimitrenko), Tua has beaten nobody.
