Miserable experience for Tua. Jimmy had a first rate chin to go with his first rate defense, and the hooks to the ribs which Cooney folded Lyle in half with made no impression on Young's body. Jimmy's left would be stuck in his face from beginning to end.
Young was too clever and slick to lose to even a great (Ruiz, Ike and Moorer) raging bull like Tua. Young may not be the greatest fighter of the 70's, but he was a certified great defensive mater and one of my favorite fighters ever for that reason.
Young unless Tua could tag him, Young is so underrated. and I am a Tua fan. Oh and Young was a whole lot better than Byrd for people making that comparison.
Young here. Pretty shitty matchup for Tuaman, even Tua at his best doesn't win this. Young is the best defensive HW of all time imo, which was actually his problem as well as his strength
