Jones couldn't bust a grape at heavyweight, Byrd was 6.1 and weighed 215 pounds and he had wins over Vitali K. ,Holyfield, Tua, Ross Purity and Bert Cooper...Remind me again of who Roy beat at heavyweight? Oh that's right ,the same guy Tua left for dead in about 30 seconds. .Roy couldn't avoid Tarver or Glen frickin Johnson without sucking air on his back in the middle of the ring, but all of this is fantasy conjecture because Roy wasn't dumb enough get in the ring with a guy like Tua who would put him on a path rocket to dementia with one shot, heck if Roy blocked a body shot Tua's hook would drive his elbow through his rib cage.

The fact this is even a debate shows how good Roy was

Not at all. Because David Tua wasn't even that good. He was an overrated, one dimensional, slow, short, fat, lazy, predictable boxer. Impossible to KO, but easily outboxed.

He couldn't even win a world title when it was a weak era when bums like ****ing John Ruiz, Herbie Hide and Henry Akinwande were holding world titles LOL. He even lost in world title eliminators in a weak era.

I'd pick all of them over someone like Andy Ruiz, Mahmoud Charr, Bermane Stiverne and Charles Martin. Tua was a top contender, and a bigger threat than someone like Joseph Parker. Also didn’t a past it Rahman become champion in mid 2000s when Waldo was #1?

Byrd was a way better heavyweight than Jones was.

Roy aura and confidence was sky high in 2003 and could see either a Roy pts win or a Wardley like ko from Tua from a big bomb late way behind on pts.

Too dangerous of a fight for Jones despite being a far better fighter
