****Daws v Morrison***Round by Round

They probably only said that because their favourite fighter was deemed (by them) to have been ripped off last week.

It would have been swept under the carpet by them otherwise.

It is an issue that needs serious attention, however, and well done to them for mentioning that - whatever their motives.

 

Yeah, I agree.

It seems that referees are little tin Gods, as in football. They aren't accountable for their decisions or performances at all - hopefully the hearing in the week will lead to a change.

There needs to be a recruitment drive, encouraging people to get involved - boxing does seem to be a closed shop at all levels.

 

I think Daws did well you could see Morrisons punches coming from a mile off, I think he broke his nose or something because he was complaining bout it, Also looked like he couldnt breathe properly... Well done to Daws though he boxed well.

 

Yeah i agree. I knew he would stop him when he started getting caught flush and was wobbled by decent shots. I saw Morrison corner man put two fingers on his nose...i think that's why Barry came out all guns he knew it was his last chance. Props to the guy showed great heart and the ending when he nodded to Lenny was typical of this great sport....it was a nod of ''yeah fair play your the better man tonight''

 

Really good fight. Shame Morrison coulds not keep it upto the end of the fight but he can come back and still fight at this level if he wants to.

Well done to Daws, would love to see him fight the McKloskey.

 

marsh v wales was fight of the night, not a technical display by any means but a good hammer and tongs scrap. marsh started connecting after he steadied the pace that wales set. round seven he landed a series of flush shots and could of taken himoutbuthe let him off the hook, he was over the weight so fitness might have been an issue. troy james looked sharp, picking his shots very well but dave parris stopped it very prematurely imo. james needs rounds and was just starting to find his range after scoring a knockdown, and parris stopped it, it was only a four rounder and the lad was in no danger, silly i think. on the other hand you had terry dunstan fighting a euro fighter and had him in all kinds of trouble, at one point his legs were giving way and it looked like one shot ould finish it and they let that one go 6 rounds? i liked lenny daws, very patient and accurate style, nothing flamboyent but effective, was finding the target with jabs and left hooks where as morrison was more hitting and hoping not looking at the target when he was firing, i like them both though just that daws was very accurate and didnt waste anything he looked in fantastic shape, a very good evening all round.

i think jones v reid deserved to be a draw, jones had the edge in power but they were both landing throughout, it was a very even contest

 

was you there supporting morrison? there were some good scottish supporters ringside

Yeah Morrisson preparation was my only concern going as I was not sure if he had enough time after the initial contest with Ajose Olusegun had to be cancelled. Cannot see Daws beating McCloskey though.
