:rofl :yep. Yeah picking off Dawson who has footwork and what...DEFENSE unlike a ****ing Froch or whomever else these clowns taught. He took some big shots from Tarver who can crack and he was not hurt by any of them and came right back.
The only good things to come out of tonight's fight are these: It ends that stupid hoodoo people were buying into about Tarver having some magic "rematch power". It was bunkum - end of story. It brought us a little bit closer to Tarver disappearing forever.
Hopkins would fade in a fight against Dawson, Dawson has a good defense so its highly unlikely Hopkins has much success. He will probably lose to Dawson and die in the last part of the fight that is why he dont want no part of Dawson
I'm really starting to warm up to a Froch-Dawson fight. You know Carl would be ALL over Chad. And since Carl's not 40 yet, it could be an interesting tussle.
Yeah but someone would have to either move up or down in weight. Who would do what? I think it would be a good fight but I could see Dawson Easily Outpointing Froch, easily.
At the top level of the division how can you expect to face anybody easier than an old man like Tarver? It is a joke that Dawson has been calling out Hopkins and Calzaghe. They would actually put up a fight unlike Tarver who merely made it look like he was fighting. Dawson is probably the only boxer in history to duck a mandatory and the biggest paycheck of his life. Reason? Diaconu might actually try to win. Dawson has the talent to be one of the biggest stars in boxing. All I see is talent squandered.
Skill has nothing to do with it. Froch gave Taylor lots of trouble even though Taylor has more stills than Tarver. The results you get in boxing are not contingent upon what you can do in theory, it is all about what you in practise. Froch comes to fight, Tarver merely pretends he is fighting.
Cmon now.. it wasn't entertaining but far from worst of the year... it was actually a good tactical matchup.. somewhat competitive.. not every fight's gotta be a damn brawl.. HBO should have passed on this one the minute it was announced though. The first fight was uneventful.. what the hell did they expect in the rematch?
I thought he was good. Showed good D and a solid chin. His offense was good when he decided to attack. \ He dominated the first fight and Tarver was ready for this one knowing this would be his last fight put up a better fight. He did not struggle in any form or fashion and did what he had to do to move forward with career.
Keep in mind that Tarver keeps his hands up -- Froch does not. Dawson would look spectacular at times.
You can't really blame HBO. They pretty much admitted this wasn't the fight thye wanted but the only fight they could get.
