This, he tried it on all through the RJJ fight. A similar thing happened in Melbourne this year in a fight between Manny Vlamis and Kashif Mumtaz ended similarly this year, the fight was a rough and tumble affair with plenty of holding, shoving and throwing from both sides, Kashif hit the deck after a bit of a wrestle on the ropes, claimed he was injured and couldn't go on so lost the fight by RSC. Kashif was equally at fault for the incident and no foul was called, fair in my opinion, Kashif claimed he was injured and couldn't go on. For whatever reason, if you stop fighting and no foul has been called, then you've lost the fight by stoppage/retirement Colin Wilson losing due to a knee injury is a prime example of this.
Well you are a doctor and if you and your colleagues say it was fake it must be. We are good hope you don't get a nasty STD from the Thai *****. Ty is the same. maybe a few more alias's since you were here last.
Why do most of our big fights of late end in huge disappointment & controversy. I picked Hopkins to win but come on you can't win a fight like Dawson just did when you are suppose to be in a boxing match.
I agree it's a bit suss but Hops was spoiling and trying to tie Chad up and he just stood up and toppled him over. bad luck he got injured. Surprised it was TKO instead of a NC. Not as bad as Floyd suckerpunching Ortiz but those 2 stoppages make boxing look bad.
Hopkins pulled the same stunt against Echols many years ago, although Echols' throw was obviously deliberate. Hopkins favoured his injured shoulder for a round or 2 then suddenly was throwing with that arm with force again. Look at what he did in the Calzaghe fight - faking low blows to try and buy time. While it wasn't immediately obvious that Dawson was starting to dominate watching the 2 rounds against Dawson, Hopkins started closing the distance and clinching and doing his "punching the hip on the ref's blindside" tactic a lot more in round 2, which indicated to me that he was starting to feel the heat - when the dirty tricks start coming out, it's because he feels he needs them to compete. Dawson's throw didn't look deliberate to me, so I think the ref decided to let Hopkins know that he wasn't buying his crap and gave the win to Dawson. We'll know how keen Hopkins is to fight Dawson again if he starts clamouring for a rematch. Until then, Dawson TKO2.
oh for god sake. Use some common sense mate. There'll be a bigger uproar if it is changed. 80% of people are saying it was the right choice. Theres only a few who think other
The csac over turned the campbell v bradley fight to a NC. I think the result should stand but hopkins and gbp have a genuine case to say that he was injured as a result of a foul - which the ref never called. Strictly speaking, chad did foul ( not in my book though).
