now calzaghe is out of the way i would really love to see this fight happen soon. any body else want to see this happen too? or not ....please state reasons. also who do you have as the winner?
Hopkins said this fight has no chance of happening. I think Taylor and Adamek are Dawson's best financial options...and maybe another senior citicen in RJJ.
I honestly think that Dawson would dominate Hopkins...Dawson isnt Pavlik and he isnt going to walk right to Hopkins... I tell you who didnt want to see this fight...Calzaghe fans, now that Calzaghe is retired Im sure they wont mind it as much.
i was a calzaghe fan why would i not want to see it. only if you are watching boxing just for a single boxer and not as a sport would it influence your opinion. i see dawson beating hopkins. dawson would need to get off to a quick start ,high tempo , in and out on hopkins to establish a lead and then he could make hopkins come to him , and counterpunch using his greater handspeed. hopkins is a master at laying defensive traps and counter. if dawson got outto a lead , dawson could then make hopkins fight a more attacking fight and would make more mistakes as a result. what hopkins can no longer do v fast hands or legs is lead off from range, and land with any consistency v the type of fighter dawson is. this fight would be hard to sell for the money hopkins wants though , as dawson does not put bums on seats .
If I never saw the Johnson Dawson fight, I would say that Dawson speed would be too much. But I think if Hopkins presses Dawson and makes him move backwards he would win a rather easy decision. Hopkins just need to be as aggressive as he was against PAvlik
I'm a Calzaghe fan and i want so see this Fight it's the biggest fight in LHW and im sure Hopkins would win
I'll pass....after Dawson wins he'll just be discredited + they'll say he just beat another 40year old, I think they're are better fights out there for fighter
hopkins would frustrate dawson with distance, footwork and angles. Trust me when i say dawson would not be able to get off at all against hopkins tarver, johnson and adamek were all right there hopkins wont be. I see a clear UD for b-hop
I would like the old guys at LHW finally fight the younger brothers for a real titles instead cheating fans: Calzaghe, Hopkins, Winky, Trinidad and probably PAC, DLH, Darchynian next year ... they should not be considered "champions" of even fight for any LHW ring title until they beat the real LHW contenders and beltholders: Dawson, Erdei, Johnson, Woods, etc.
