Gotta favor Dawson in this one.

Diaconu's only shot is to blitzkrieg Dawson otherwise he gets picked apart fairly easy.

Because Dawson's American promoter (Shaw) does not believe in Dawson as much as the Romanian promoter believes in Diaconu.

The Romanian promoter was prepared to make a very large bid to win the puse bid ($1.8m) as a result. He won the purse bid, offering Dawson by far his biggest payday ever, and will therefore decide where to hold the fight. He has decided for Romania.

If Dawson wanted to make sure that the fight was going to be in his back yard, he should have gotten himself a promoter who believed in him more or he should have asked his promoter to make a large enough bid to make sure he won the purse bid contest.

And, lest we forget, Dawson is not the Champ. He was the Champ. Diaconu is the Interim Champ. Dawson has the right to fight for the title, that is all. If he doesn't, Diaconu remains Champion.

Diaconu didnt look like a worldbeater vs. Henry. If this is all he brings to the table, he will lose ! He looked quite mediocre to me.

I also thought Diaconu looked no better than an average world class fighter against Henry. On the other hand, Henry's performance was borderline world class too. Still, I don't expect Diaconu will ever fight much better than he fought against Henry.

I like Dawson on this one. His fight with GJ--if anything-- proved his mettle, as the Road Warrior is a certified blue collar fighter who will be a difficult fight for anyone worth his salt--Adrian included.

I'm going out on a limb and saying Diaconu pulls of an upset. Dawson stood in front of Johnson too often after throwing his flashy combo's and I can see the harder hitting Diaconu taking advantage of this defensive flaw.

Gary Shaw has always known to be a cheap ass, also Dawson is Shaw's biggest fighter so of course he believes in him. Gankar promotions bidded 1.8mil because Shaw's offer was so easy to beat. If it was Don King, Lou Dibella, GBP, they would of outbid Gankar promotions for sure. As for Diaconu being the "champ" no Dawson is the champ, he's the bigger name, he's the bigger draw, and everyone has him herald as the next big thing in the LHW division. No one knows who Diaconu is outside Romania and Canada and since Dawson is getting 60% of the share that's all that needs to be said on who the champ really is. Once the fight begins in Romania you will see why Dawson is one of the most talented fighters today.

Dawson will go to Romania. Kind of like how RJJ would of fought Michalczew in Germany. The only thing Dawson has to worry about is corrupt judges, but since the judges will be neturuel, Dawson has nothing to worry about.

To be honest as weird as this may sound Id give Henry a better chance at beating Dawson than Diaconu.

Also why would Tarver want to fight Dawson if he can't get the WBC belt? And if Dawson were to drop his WBC belt just to fight him, Tarver would get the impression that Dawson is a coward and probably fight Diaconu instead. Dawson has no choice but to go to Romania and fight Diaconu. And as much as people don't like Tarver, he wouldn't drop his IBF belt just to skip someone and fight a bigger name. Tarver hasn't ducked anyone and was willing to fight Dawson until he heard about Dawson's situtation. Clearly ducking a fighter is a no no in boxing.

Dawson is like Wlad, a skilled fighter with a shaky chin, and it's only a matter of time before he meets his Corrie Sanders.

I still can't forget his fight with a completely listless Adamek. He was put down by a single sharp right late in the fight and then just completely turtled the rest of the way. Plus, let's not kid ourselves, Glen Johnson whooped his ass but got robbed of the decision.

If Diaconu was six feet tall then there would be little question who would win this fight. As it is, I think it's 50/50 that Diaconu gets to him.
