KG, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

The entire Dawson/Diaconu buildup has been predicated around the idea that you'd have slick boxer vs. aggressive puncher, but the KO ratios don't actually support that.

I do believe Diaconu has very good power, but I also believe he is more crude than his superfans are willing to admit. He has no chance of beating Dawson by decision, so it's a matter of whether he can catch him.

Oh my bad, but I wanted to say that anyway for those who doubt Dawson's power, nothing against him though.

Actually, many many people say Dawson has no power and Diaconu is like the second coming of Gerald McClellan, at least when referring to this fight. It's been mentioned in this thread a few times. Not sure if it's sarcasm or not.

I think Diaconu has a bit more power than Dawson. However, I was illustrating extreme points of view. Diaconu is being built up as a beast, and Dawson is said to have no power. If there was such a disparagement in power between the two, then Dawson wouldn't have a higher KO ratio. It doesn't mean that Dawson hits harder obviously, but it's hard to say one hits a ton harder than the other given actual in ring facts, as opposed to fan build up. If Diaconu hits that much harder, I think there would be a bit more evidence of that.

True, but if there was such a huge difference in their power like Diaconu fans have been saying IE, Dawson has no power, and Diaconu hits like a truck, then even accurate punching wouldn't be able to account for the KO ratio comparison. A fighter with no power can be accurate all day long and can't hurt you. And a fighter with great power doesn't have to be all that accurate.

Its more likely Diaconu has good power and Dawson has above average power than Dawson has no power and Diaconu has great power.

Ha. My bad. I meant to say *you* were being sarcastic, not the Diaconu fans.

I didn't write that one very well.

That is a powerful arguement but the real power rests with the judges especially when the power puncher didn't get the knockout because he didn't have the power to control himself long enough to learn his trade.
