DDD taking the knee is actually a genius move...

I thought it mid way through the fight. He realises he's stunned and takes the knee to clear his head rather than get caught with something else. There aren't many fighters that are smart enough to do this, pride keeps them on their feet only to get stopped moments later in many cases.

Perhaps the binman isn't as boneheaded as he comes off.

 

He been in that ring since 8 yrs old, he knows a thing or two.

Last time I saw a heavy do something like that was Lyakovich against Brewster.

 

His heart and IQ were questioned before this fight unnecessarily. He took Wardley's best shots and jabbed him to the point of no return. Not much more to add.

Outside the ring, Wardley is more intelligent than Dubois...

Inside the ring, Dubois has underrated boxing IQ and skills, while Wardley is Joe Joyce 2.0, big and stiff just walking forward blocking punches with his face until he gets CTE

Wardley won't be able to mount a comeback like Dubois has done (twice now) because he never had the ring IQ to begin with

 

Dubois got my attention in the first Usyk fight. Even though he lost most of the rounds, he was only a split second off Usyk in the exchanges and there were instances where he was out boxing Usyk, not to mention the controversial body shot that floored Usyk.

Dubois is the real deal, he can box, he knows how to get in and out of range with his good foot movement, his left jab is probably one of the best in the sport, he's got good stamina for a heavyweight, he can brawl and slug it out if he chooses to.

 

It always surprises me that more fighters dont take a knee.

How many times do you see fighters stumbling around the ring one shot away from being ironed out when you think why not just take a knee and gather yourself.

Or Dubois against Usyk in the rematch. Or in the first fight with Usyk. Or against Lerena. Or against Joyce.
...Dubois has used this tactic plenty of times, and I don´t actually hold it against him. If you are truly hurt, or overwhelmed, then it makes perfect sense to take a knee.

 

Dubious needs 20 seconds to gather his legs from massive shots and he's back on firm feet afterm pretty good going really. Hard for him to avoid them quick rights early but mid fight onwards he was doing a good job avoiding them.
