I had it 7-5 for Sturm. Oscar faded badly in those later rounds. If Sturm had power, Oscar would have really been in trouble.

7 - 5 for Sturm. Oscar's flurries almost always landed on Sturm's very solid guard, Sturm clearly imposed his gameplan in that fight.

Oscar showed up fat and underestimated Sturm.

Sturm would not have beaten the De la Hoya who showed up against Hopkins.

I agree with this. Most people don't, but Oscar was not in a good way against Sturm, and he still made it very close. Even at 160, Oscar had that little bit of quality that made him better than most. The Oscar who lost to Hopkins would've beaten 99% of the world's middleweights at that time.

116-112 Sturm. I won't cry for a robbery but the winner was pretty clear to me.

8-4 Sturm. One of the worst robberies in boxing. And, everyone was ok with it because Hopkins/DLH was going to happen later in the Fall. I felt sorry for the German fighter and none of us have a right to complain about decisions in other countries after what we did to Sturm.

Sturm sucks anyway.... He is happy with mid level success.. he didnt deserve to win anyway in hindsight because hes a underachieving germ. He would have done nothing with the win.

Outside of Taylor, Pavlik and Abraham haven“t beaten better fighers than he has.
