they both worked well. i dont think he was too rigid as he was using his feet more than anything

He was moving often, yes, but was still straight-up and down. Not much changing of height, movement from the waist, and his head movement was non-existent. His defense was all foot movement and blocking with a high guard. He wasn't slipping punches.

yes obviously it would have been good but he didnt need it as he had a gameplan to be out of range and he manged to use his feet to egt out of range. Hopkins was alot better though

I think only three people gave that fight to Trinidad.

Two of the judges and ESB's very own Jack Prescott.

Even Tito himself looked shocked when announced as the winner.

Funny whenever Don King has been involved in just about every controversial decision since the early 80's. Its a joke, and always has been a black eye on boxing. Oscar clearly won the fight, just like Whitaker clearly beat Chavez, and Lewis clearly beat Holyfield. Had the Tyson Douglas fight gone to the cards, it would have been a draw? King is the most corrupt person in the history of professional sports.

For the record, his best performance was against MA Gonzalez, his best win was Mosley II (I scored it for Oscar).

He was pretty good against Gonzalez. He hardly missed with the jab. De La Hoya was known to scarcely throw the right hand throughout his career. I thought his right hand volume was as low as ever against Gonzalez. He did dominate and perform very well nonetheless.

De La Hoya's greatest official wins were: Ruelas, Hernandez, Chavez I, Gonzalez and Vargas.

The Quartey fight was his best performance, he really dug down to win a close fight in the later rounds. The Vargas KO was nice too.

I could have included them based on him officially pulling out the wins. They were controversial and I don't think he performed well in either. Not his worst, but not his best either.

On paper they look good, no question.

O nm i see your point. as far as BEST performances go, yes the ones u listed were the best! I thought u meant paper! sorry

What about Wildredo Riveria? Oscar dominated him. Rivera lost a close decision to Pernell Whitaker and I had the fight even on the cards going into the 10th with a prime mosley. oscar beat him much worse than shane and sweet pea did

The Whitaker fight was a loss in my opinion. I think the general consensus is that ODH lost that fight.

Agreed. He was good against Rivera as well. He certainly never struggled with him.
