Read the thread again, div. People are saying that Froch had every fight to call Calzaghe out, but who had he beat that warranted him a shot at that time? Reid? Khan, to be fair, has some great names on his resume. At least with Khan doing the calling out he is on the world stage (and has been for donkeys years), unlike Carl was at that time.
Do people actually think Froch is a HOF'er? He is a one-weight champion with no elite wins on his record.
A hof career is not measured upon "one elite win". A fighters legacy is based upon his whole.body of work.
People of the UK watch a Froch fight expecting him to knock his opponent out, and watch a Khan fight expecting to see him get knocked out- once it happens again against an average/good fighter Khan is finished!! Until then he will be on the undercard in Vegas, maybe in the build up to Froch v Chavez??!! If your not getting the jist of this what I am saying is Khan cannot be compared to Froch, who has achieved way more than Khan has or ever will!!Now don't get me wrong I quite like Khan but at the same time I know it's only a matter of time before I'll see him dancing and eating the canvas again!!
I think the "Super 6" was a good concept. 6 of the best in a division all facing one another. It didn't work out because fighters dropped out, it ended up the super 8 or 9 or something. So, the whole basis of it was destroyed and it became meaningless. You are right, the quality of the division was poor, but surely it is better to attempt to match the best against the best in a weak division, rather than the alternative, which would be to match them against the dregs.
Sorry, this is a man that just fought at Wembley Stadium, last time Khan fought in Britain he failed to sell out The Motorpoint, before that he failed to sell out MEN Arena. Don't be silly There's a difference between people knowing your name, and people knowing your name and wanting to pay money to see you fight.
