I think margo is going to finish what he started with cotto. To me, cotto has dropped a level since the marg beating, I think marg will now finish cotto as a top level fighter. It depends how much pac took out of him. I hope I'm wrong though.... I'm rooting for cotto to avenge his defeat.
Mosley hurt him to the body too, it's his weak spot. Manny Steward will tell Cotto to throw more body shots than a little bit.
In order for Cotto to throw good shots to the body, he needs to be set which means hes also there to be hit. Cotto doesn't throw shots from the outside other than the jab. Margarito was the one hurting Cotto with body shots in the first fight. Honestly, I think MArgarito is as bad a fight for Cotto as there is out there. I think he'd have a better chance of beating Pac in a rematch than Tony. (and I don't think he'd beat Pac either...) People can talk about Tony/Pac all they want but Tony wasn't close to being stopped in that fight other than from the grotesque eye injury and he had his best rounds in that fight after absorbing Pacs best shots.
cotto gonna destroy cheato wit out brick gloves...and in madison square garden payback is a *****!!!!
Hopefully we see a much sharper Cotto after this much time with Manny ..In the first fight he was out boxing cheato in spurts ..No reason for him to be trading with him this time around .
Can't wait for this fight to happen! I'd favor Cotto this time around but 154 will definitely be more of an advantage for Margo. Having Steward on Cotto's side will definitely be more than enough to handle Margo's improved punch resistance @ 154. Wish they could move it to around October or at least Nov.
Really? Because he seemed to do pretty well in the first fight despite being hit with bricks. Margarito's slow, looping punches won't be knocking anyone's ears off anymore. Cotto by easy UD, the way the first fight would have been if someone's gloves weren't loaded.

That fight should have been stopped. Margarito nearly had his career ended and who knows what sort of long-term neurological damage he sustained. So was he close to stopping on his own? No. Would it have been humane to stop an unnecessary beating? Yes. And who knows what would have happened if Pacquiao had not shown some compassion.
Cotto will win this one, with steward in his corner a good gameplan he will probably take a lead in this fight before margarito breaks him down only this time I expect him to have some moves to make it to the finishline and dont take such a beating. cotto 115-113 type decision is my prediction.
The looping shots weren't the ones doing the most damage, it was the uppercuts. I don't know. Cotto could (and should) outbox Margo, but you have to wonder about the psychological effect of that beating on Cotto and of watching Margo literally walk through his best shots. And as we've seen in other fights (Margo, Pac, Clottey, Mosley), Cotto will go into 'survivor mode' when he can't overwhelm a fighter with offense.
Tony has been a cheat for most of his carrer as is shown from his 3 fights where we are 100 percent sure he didnt have any plaster.... I like Cotto to win..knocks em with a left hook to the body.
Guys who beat MArgarito are guys who can stand right with him make him miss and slug it out. Santos, Shane, Pac- all those guys beat the crap out of Tony. Cotto can't take the same punishment those guys can and he can't hurt Tony like those guys could. Cottos jab does nothing for him here, he can't get set to land his best body punches on the inside (mosley hurt Tony from the outside with a long straight punch to the body) without eating uppercuts from Tony. Tony eats him up every time.
