I'm really not sure what ****** was thinking handing out those deals.

The British people love to see someone cocky knocked off their perch, so were hardly going to tune in in their hordes to watch DeGale vs Eurobums. Had he kept his mouth shut and beaten Groves in an impressive manner people's opinions on him might change.

Gavin doesn't have a must watch style, and is a pretty quiet lad by nature..... Saunders much the same.

It doesn't make any sense, either financially or career-wise to keep these lads on PPV for a limited amount of fights per year.

The only reason I can see this happening is if ****** feels he has to run PPVs then he needs a high profile opponent to justify it. I think he would put Cleverley defence plus Degale-Pavlik on PPV

I'd like to think with the new deals coming up at Sky the days of shitty defences for champions at all levels are a thing of the past.

Groves vs DeGale was the sort of fight that all too rarely happens at domestic level, so I'm encouraged from that score.

Another is the fact that we are seeing fighters in matches against experienced foes from overseas - such as Brook vs N'Dou, rather than the ''must have a title on the line'' policy, though we can do without these shitty baubles on the line that are only there for the sake of it.

Hall vs McDonnell is coming up too, 2011 is shaping up very nicely indeed.

I actually think DeGale has a relatively decent chance in this fight. I highly doubt it'll get made though.

Coming off the loss to Groves? 1. There is no way he deserves that fight, 2. He'd get obliterated.

What in recent history would suggest W@rren would actually take a risk of that size. Degale will likely come back against a Polish guy with a 16-5 record before taking on someone like Kenny Anderson.

It'll be set for DeGale to have an easy fight to get a win, then a possible 'big' name or euro title to leapfrog Groves.

They could do that to justify in their opinion that George got lucky.
